My Dear Poet
If water so easily slips through fingers
then why are these tears
still stored up in my head?
When all I’ve wanted
is just to cry sometimes
at those times
I’ve wished I bled

I hear her sweeter whispers

She calls to me in threes

To tempt my soul to flicker

a dying fire aided by the breeze

I know not which way  to answer

As she is now  knocking on the trees

Why is it that you visit me

O lady  of my dreams

The smoke, not the fire,
Got in my eyes;
The idea, not my brain,
Lives on outside;
Our love, not the heart,
Allows us to thrive.
Long will we live
Long after we die.

I am envious
of your tears

My dear

For when your
heart holds pain

They grant you
a relief….

I am envious
of your tears

My dear

Because  like a
lovers hand

They run gently
down your cheek….

When drinking
by the fire

I can feel myself
come undone

My nights have
never been colder

And I’m unnerved
by what’s to come

So I focus on flames
to hide my endless
gaze

All the ghost’s
Inside my head

Dare I say they
call my name
