This Morning
Antony Glaser Jun 2022
Mediocrity takes me on a rainy ride,
down to Tatsfield on the 464 bus
Manufacture me joy,
by slow degree

Sing a feral love song.
This old planet has nothing to teach us.
Like a disused canister,
it is earthen by distinction.
Camarade, this morning
has a shy happenstance

Still got the  blame
Our rubber ducks fade  under the Sun,
melted  plastic  cracks
under fortitude,
never told  dad
that  I threw away  his golden  bucket
because  brother Jack
drilled a  hole  through it.

Child within
Antony Glaser Dec 2021
A sackful of ash
and a burning question
I talked to the child within
Fecund blue lights aglow
answered me

I heard the regale in the grass
that danced in the wind
Hiding behind lies
I laughed at the child
feeling misled
I was a stranger in his eyes

Antony Glaser Jul 2022
Rain coming for a long time
Changes coming down too soon
I used to run like cobbled stones
Can't seem to carry down the hill
the overlapping branches remain undisturbed

Used to think of Ferris wheels
All neon rides come down,
luminous signposts
Freedoms come a long way down
I need to talk to someone

A day so happy
Cantonese your smile
give me your daily rice

Remember Autumns action,
a bonfire of flames,
where the overgrown cobwebs of your life
are extinguished to your  conscience

Forget your barriers,
on the cobbled way to your destiny.
Once laden is the now free
freedoms hanker is tomorrow's high.

I am planting myself

and eventual discord

Just some grey occurrence

The middle way between

What a query we have in the night

Lonely Anne.
The day lays still,
shadows forever chase the wall,
beneath the nights, benign future spheres
gigantic upheavals,
step out into skyline infinity
forever starry-eyed,
you're speaking out about the fear of loving.
you cant release or realize,
There are lines for our deeds
and platitudes for our causes
can our morals be recalled today?

In the meantime her yellowing letters

she reminded shackled to the dark,
the invisible string undercutting

Antony Glaser Jun 2018
Cats are our friends,
they're a gift from ancient Egypt
and when they offer you a mouse
accept it with due diligence.
It's their hail from Atum Ra's moment.
They are intelligently dexterous
yet determined.
I like the tuxedo variety,
akin to the best suited James Bond,
service with an  indelible  smurf
all 009 lives of them.
Smurf in my poem  means a gamer posing as a newbie. Cats are like this they are intelligent operators with more nuance than expected.
