I'm just a taxidermy with a soul
but I've seen foxes on display that look better than me.
Shay Apr 2016
Night time; the foxes dance in the pale moonlight,
with their beautiful black eyes shining bright.
The wolves howl towards the night sky,
singing a sublime song through each and every cry.
Owls hidden in the swaying forest trees,
watching out for their prey, solemn and at ease.
This is the wild and it's a beautiful place,
one that humans should learn to embrace.

Large wings,
Constant mischievous smirk
He fell from the sky
Blurred in shades of red
A war between winged humans
And 9 tailed foxes
Bones snapping,
Metal clashing,
Wings flapping,
Fangs baring
The enemies blood
Mercilessly slaughtering
One another
Proving their strength

Recollections by the window

darkness at the door,

a spent cigarette,

a dried up memory bank-

a laptop lying purposefully in the grass.

in between the moment is the event

The wood is riven by foxes

whimpering with cloven paws

the newly accommodated ******

rakes up a new home

the water vole scurries into the infested water

in between the moment is the event

reproduced in the computer

action and moment have ceased,

action and intent no longer connected

time and thought perpetually adjusted

hollow rain signifies emptiness

a blank screen eternity.

All I want, though, is to be a part of a disaccharide, and never dissolve. Someone I can grow old with, share a bench under the Space Needle, take photographs of me when I'm not looking. I don't want to be old news to them. I want to be the newspaper they pick up every day, read my stories, and know tomorrow will still happen, there will still be more stories to read. I would very much like to be in someone's life the way I wish for someone to be in mine.
I don't want to spend my whole life searching, chasing, waiting for you.

i need you to keep me awake
until the palace band stops playing
and the trapped sand in my hands
turns into sea glass

i'm lit up but so easy to smother
by a wayward breath of wind
or the waxing moon's light temper
the errant smoke will twist forever
Box of Bumble Bees
Bodacious !
Borboleta fluttering away . . .

Hold on you say . . . how ?
I got the cold ! Hold on . . . now you say
Save it for a sunny day . . . hold on
You got to hold on for one more day
