I can't love you like you should be
I heard these words leave my mouth
As we lay against the pear tree
How could things ever get this for south

Have I turned myself into her
Making excuses for why I can't love
Now my visions a blur
And there will be no white doves

If I could I would, I think
But I know that’s not True
For if she came within a blink
I would join her and leave you

That's the real reason that I hide
That I hope for her tomorrow
While keeping it all inside
Trying to stay ahead of sorrow
