the dead bird Mar 2016
endless pacing
of these
subaquatic halls
almost catatonic
until I remember
how to think
and then
I cry

I should be
dead

I was dead
free from this
painful
existence
until something -
the WAU -
brought me back
in it's skewed mission
to preserve humanity

the WAU
stitched me
back together
with its gel of life

hardly human
hardly conscious
but conscious enough
to hate what I am
and cry
over my own existence

misery
then
anger
I am half
myself
half WAU
angry
craving to ****
hurt
end
whatever
stumbles across
my path

in my habitual
walks
through these corridoors
I see him

something else
another
who is aware
oh what I wouldn't
give
to have another
sentient creature
to curb my loneliness but-
NO!
STAY AWAY FROM ME!

the WAU
starts talking

**** him
he doesn't want you
to exist
he will
prevent you
from being with me
you need me
we need each other
he wants to end us
to end
life
he must be
extinguished
for the sake of
preserving
humanity

find him
chase him
**** HIM

in my pursuit
of the sentient
diving suit
I recognize
his fear
and my humanity
comes back to me
and I weep

he is
so afraid
of who I am
the Frankenstein
the predator
seeking prey
I cry
because this
is who I am
I cry
because I don't want
to hurt him
I cry
because I am
alive

constantly torn
between animalistic
rage
and the
self aware
misery
of realizing what I am

I want someone
to hold me
and make me feel
human
but
I don't want
any conscious creature
to get near me

for the WAU
is controlling
the strings of this puppet
it is the reason
I exist
it gives me the
sustenance
I need and crave
to keep on
hating my own existence
it will make me
****
anything that crosses my path

I think
and I weep
one of the enemies in the video game SOMA that really stuck with me. wrote it from her perspective. if you haven't played or heard of the game this won't make any sense to you, so ignore it lol

We will walk through the Cherry blossoms
in Japan, hand in hand, meandering through
the falling petals.  Our winding path
will weave through the countryside  with
no goal in sight.  We will stop in front of a
particularly beautiful tree, whose branches
are just beginning to look naked.

I will look at you, brush a stray blossom
from your hair...and whisper

sitting in class, perfectly silent, makes my teacher ask "are you sick, autumn?"
but you see mr. teacher you would not care even if i was. My mind said only deep to the bone, but you thought my normal obnoxiousness was normal for me. Yet this quietness inside me has been wanting to break out for oh so long and now it has. why must you believe i am the wau"i" am?
why couldn't you look deeper to find the real me?
i am not silent, nor am i what you all believe me to be.
so stop assuming i will do what oyu say,
so stop believeing i will say this not that,
so stop insulting me because your insults are so ridiculous you have no idea,
your insults don't even compare to me because you don't know me,
so i beg of you to please just stop.
so i beg of you to please just keep on going as if nothing will make a differnecr when im gone.
i beg of you to stop defending me.
i beg of you to stop saying i impressed you with my being quiet when thats who i aam, i beg of you to stop being so danm ignoraant.
i beg of you to open your eyes.
for thats all i want.
open your eyes, and seee that i am me and you are you,
and that that's

"PIease dont wait for me", they're her last words,
Just as that last flight, she boards,
Leaving me all alone in a state of poetic trance,
She didn't even try to give us a second chance.

The love she showed and the promises she made,
Broken in mere seconds in that dreadful raid,
Lost in the past, loving someone who was never mine,
With wet eyes I write and it happens to rhyme.

Slowly dissolving into the world of hate,
I thought it had always been my fate,
To be broken and be left beyond repair,
Just reading my work in awe and despair.

But everything changed, an old friend arrived,
Knowing my scars, to help me she strived,
Maybe happiness wanted to give me another glance,
It turns out maybe life did give me another chance,

Helplessly I fell for the same trick again,
In hope that it'll cleanse that old stain,
She ensured she would always be there,
"Just trust me,"she said," I'll always be fair "

With time my fate eventually started to change,
All that had happened, now didn't feel strange,
I thought She liked me and we'll get along,
I thought our bond would always remain Strong.

But time is very cruel, it never remains the same,
I guess with me, it always loves to play this game.
Just as everything seemed better, he came along,
A distant-cousin who thought all this was wrong.

He asked her to mercilessly cut-off our old bond,
Unwillingly she did so,for of him she was long fond,
Not knowing what to do she asked me to understand,
For I cared for her, I silently waved my hand.

I thought I was strong enough to forget,
Everything that happened from the day we met,
For she loved him and would be happy with him,
I waved her goodbye, even though I would get dim.

But she stopped me from going I dont know why,
She said she wanted to say something other than goodbye,
She thanked me. for undustandlng and being always there,
I suddenly went blank and gave. her a long stare.

"I didn't do anything that I can compare,
With what you had done during my nightmares,
You helped me. recover and showed me a wau,
I really wish I could've; made you stay.

But you know I'm not that strong,
I can't forget our old cherished bond,
I'll always be. here if you ever come. back,
I'll wait for you even during the all black. "

I knew she had to leave but I gave it a try ,
And I guess it was futile for she said goodbye
I saw her turn back and just walk away,
From that moment I felt my life turning grey.

She left me all alone with this great pain,
I guess it all happened to me once again,
For ln the end She said "be happy wherever you may be',
But I wont ever be back," So please dont wait for me
It's about how people still cling to their feelings after their breakup and jjst don't move on.
