Only a few short days...
We were laughing away on Friday

You seemed happy, not flinching
Even when our friend replied with

An Emiya Shirou meme
What killed you homie?

Sunday, your seat’s empty
Our friends all at church

Like He finally heard us
Your mom, she needs our prayers

Her spot on the front pew bare
While she holds your hand at the ward

I was on Twitter this morning. One of my follows (an anime fan in the US) had tweeted his condolences to his late friend’s family and tagged him as well. From that tweet, I started learning about their lives through their online interactions: tweets, gifs, memes. At times I felt like I was intruding on a stranger’s privacy, having never met either of them in real life. I hope this poem does justice to a life taken too young too soon.

Weeaboo.
Owning this geeky word was not something I immediately understood.
Coming from a school where geeks were castaways,
with Otaku and weeb being even worse terms than that.
But now she, who loves video games, and cartoons
- a geek herself, dare I say, -
calls me a not only a weeaboo,
a term revered here,
but a failed one.
Many references I lack to see,
My circle of watched media is constrained,
me being the picky geek that I may be.
The simple act of putting on fluffy ears that I deem kawaii,
She takes as the action of a 'furry'.
I rarely see memes, something that not only geeks look at,
but social media as well,
yet she acts as though it lies within the domain of otakus.
Saying ohauyo, tadima, or even simply arigato,
gives me a snide reply of, "freaking weeb"
Making pebbles into boulders is her specialty.

Don't mess with hard-core otakus.
lol so this guy in tech class today was being all racist about anime and my friends(whom are all otakus) and i got really ******... so my friend slapped him and well it was just so funny. basically, we might be weak and crazy, but we will always stand up for what we love: anime/manga.
repost, like, comment if you watch or read anime or manga, or if you can relate, or if you r an otaku.
message me on anime and manga!
I should have run to Japan, to be the writer that I can, to sing folk to girls who are smiling because they can, I should have road the rails, staring at the never ending cities with hearts ablaze, ducking down into a dreamland maze of alley ways, give my poems to hobos and gays, and find any naru to sing karaoke, go into dens and clubs that traded air for smoking, I'd be the talk of toast, and the **** of the island, or I'd get drunk with samurais on a foam pylon, I'd ask a geisha to dance, but get nervous and spill my drink all over my pants, I'd go with malcontents and roughdy otakus as we hit the arcades on speed, I'd stay at a hotel and get married married in the states, I'd fall in love with a girl for a weekend and shed tell me she hates fancy dinners but loves dates, I would end up sleeping in the hills, high and full of chills, I'll tell school children what the stars mean, even though they can't be seen, I'll write a poem about my sin, of wanting my right, my right of a writing man, in Japan.
The title is suppose to be about Naru, a fictional character(who has green eyes)  but represents that true love
Where do I even start?
You were the apple of my eye.
You were the Maka to my Crona.
Or in the words on non-otakus:
You were the light in a tunnel of darkness.

We had so many good years.
You got me out of my shell.
You were the only one who could calm me down.

You know I didn't even know I loved you until it was too late.
I was away when they gave those letters out.
When I read mine that said I didn't get in, I shrugged it off.
When I heard you got in, I felt stabbed.
I almost cried.

All of a sudden, you were gone.
Some part of me thought I deserved it.
For not being smart enough,
For not being good enough,
For not beingΒ Β enough

What happened after is history.
History I don't feel like sharing,
'Cause it's ours.

You were my first love really.
I don't think I'll ever get over you,
And I don't think I ever really want to.
Goodbye.

Otakus are shy yet so amazing,
try to find out what they are saying,
but be warned,
cause every word they say,
every sentence they phrase,
could be a trap into the world of animΓ©.
Don't know what animΓ© is go search and be encased in its magnificence.
                                                      ;)
