I got to 40,000 words in this month
And I may finish NaNoWriMo
I may win
I think that
For once in my life
I've earned the right
To be proud
Of myself.
Last weekend of NANOWRIMO and I'm so close to finishing.....
NaNoWriMo Is Almost here,
People will get ready to write their
novel in thirty days and
it has to be written in 50,000
words to enter your novel.

People rush to enter the contest,
with the chance
of winning a prize,
People rush to enter the contest
just to be recognized

People will be writing about
all kinds of genres,
and when it is over
People will be filled of good cheer

NaNoWri Month is almost here,
so everyone get to their computers
and start thinking about what
they will be writing about
so they can be recognized
this year.
a Nov 2014

Cameron Godfrey Nov 2012
National Novel Writing Month
Sit down and write some stuff.

Day 6, four thousand words behind
Go left or go right can't make up my mind.

So many more days to go
Still not enough to finish NaNo

Caffeine and sugar keeping me up
If I get to 20,000 I'll be in luck

The ups and downs, sorta like life
But I've got years and years to write!
I haven't written poetry in forever! I'm too caught up in NaNoWriMo it's all I think about!!!

Molten words
stolen at a write-in
singe the page
set ablaze my word count

sizzling tales
inspired by a comment
make my plot
dance across the hot coals
lilac Dec 2016
hurrah, hurrah!
cue to cheers!
for the long writing program
has ended.

quite a journey it
has been!
spilling out words
squinting at pages
and conquering the
flame breathing dragon
in the very end.

so hurrah, hurrah
huzzah, huzzah,
it's over!
WOW NANO IS OVER YES

Just a little ditty, not too witty,
when my youngest is now of age,
in the United States,
but has been for two years in Canada,
                                   it doesn't matta,
                  so Happy Birthday son
as of midnight you are twenty one,
in human years
not dog years
you speak of dreams
        and you stream
   ideas   of a   better world,
while I do NanoWriMo
you talk of Nano Technology
where you will go to University
                           in Ontario,
after you go to Australia,
I hope we don't fail ya'
by casting love clouds of doubt,
or just stand by and shout,
like some cheerleader,
but really listen and hear ya'
for you have leader ship skills
and intutive creativity with a proclivity
that will help you sail for years
in the world where small is becoming huge
if you can just find the wind
if you can just find the wind
Thunderstorm Dec 2014

Thunderstorm Dec 2014
To make this a challenge,
I'm doing me.
So, good things on me....
I can write pretty well
I finished NaNoWriMo
Uh.....
I type pretty fast when I get into it
I'm in chorus
I can do school stuff if I try
Uh....
I'm alive?
Is that a good thing?
Not everyone hates me
I may have a few friends
Um.....
I don't know any more
But thank you Andy
For that challenge,
It sort of did help.
For Andy's challenge, go find it if you need  to but please do it

we had plans to watch Moulin Rouge for months
to curl up on the sofa with sweet and salted popcorn
to listen to the songs which you thought summed up
everything we felt.

we had plans to have word wars together
all in the name of NaNoWriMo of course
to write and write until we both got fed up of
everything we'd created

we had plans to go wherever our hearts longed to be
i wanted to go back to my home, and you said you'd follow
not only for your career but so together we could grow up
everything we dreamed of

but now im sitting on the couch munching away on my own
wondering how many words you've done while im writing by myself
ive cancelled my plans to travel, i dont want to go alone
nothing seems right without you.

Why do I do NanoWriMo?
I write.
I have guarded my thoughts, my words,
for so many years it is absurd.
I have sounds to string together a n d   t h e y  b e c o m e
something, some thing
I am no superstar,
I am not rich,
except LIKE all of YOU,
in experience,
I am not well connected,
except by disconnect,
relations like ships rise and fall
I accept responsibility for them all,
mishaps perhaps
but they, are all mine,
and I forgot more than I can remember,
for decades, I stagnated or worse dismember
time as a value,  (cut off the hands of time) and
live with in your ethics,
or they smell your stench of duplicity.
I have an imagination,
is it a work of machinations, per Descartes,
or my trapped
living soul on a day pass choosing to Escape?
Meet me
by the West wall of wire at dusk,
you lift the barbs and wire for me,
then I return the favour and set you free,
from the other side of 50,000 words.
On 50,000 words
lies an imagintion
Ottar Oct 2013
Not the year, but still a number
After thirty days feel numb...er,
sixteen sixty seven,
average words in one day,
times
thirty days, a month of
writing
November,
National
in other words
NaNoWriMo,
cousin of
Na PoWri Mo, in April
twins
of different mothers of intervention.

Abandon me to my room,
let me bleed words to my doom,
a story of fantasy,
don't have to leave the country,
to escape from my mundane,
                               crypt of chaos,
it may be the death of me,
but not until I write
fifty thousand plus words, see?

Nov 1 2013 to Nov 30 2013
