Zindagi ne, is kaddar, kiya hai,  bas vaar
Bina koi,  churee,  ya koi,  talwaar

Ghaayal; dil ye hua,  baar, baar
Zindagi ne, di,  chotain hazaar

Gaye thay,  hum,  is tarah se,  bikhar
jooda na, paye thay phirse ye jigar

khaamoshi se, milta tha,  bas, karaar
tanhayeeon se , karte thay, iqraar

Jhanke, hum jab, dil ke, jo andar
Sach nikala, gehrayion se, baahar

Shikayat hai, ab na, koi takraar
karne lage hai, hum, khudse jo pyaar!

Self Love

Life has waged on me many a war
Without even a sword or a dagger so far

The heart was wounded time and again
Life hurt and caused me so much pain

My life was but thrown helter skelter
I could not piece my heart together

Silence was but my solace
Solitude was my only grace

When I dug deep within me
The truth I could clearly see

I have no grievances or complaints now
Having realized the importance of self-love

Ghar me taare hazaar laaya hoon
Chaand chhat pe utaar laaya hoon
Bohot roka samandar ne mujhe
Phir bhi kashti ko paar laaya hoon

Tuhade bin sannu sohneya koi hor ni labhna,

Tuhade naal hi saddi rooh nu sukoon milna.

Tussi saddi jaan ** mahiya,

Pyaar kardi haa tuhanu inna saara.

Aawe tuhanu jado hichki,

Tuhadi jaan tuhanu yaad kardi.

Har vele har dua ch tuhanu yaad karde,

Har janam tussi hi milo ohi mangde.

Saat janam ki assi hazaar janam lave,

Bs sadde utte sirf tujhada haq hove.

Warna koi Zindagi na mile sannu jide ch tussi na **,

Tuhado baajo hor nahiyo chahida koi,

Ye mahiya har janam sirf tuhadi layi hoyi.

Saddi har peedh da ilaaj tussi hi ne,

Rooh muskandi saddi jado tussi muskande.

Sadde har nakhde tussi hi jhel sakde,

Har duavan ch sirf tuhanu assi mangde.

Jeho tussi khayal rakhde ** sadda,

Tuhadi rooh da karun mai sajda.

Ankhiyan ch ankhaa paake jado dekhde,

Chand di Chandni hi hi feeki dasde.

Inni khubsurat hai rooh tuhadi,

Dil jeda saaf tey saccha utey mardi.

Sab tou sohna sohneya mileya mainu,

Jachde ** tussi hi jaan Meri sannu.

Standing at the door of a coach
The train cuts through plains and valleys
Like a raft with wide oars albeit
Expressed in heaving breathes it soars.

It would take a season each to belong
He knew and blew his horn along, for he;
Who runs between rails and moves from-
Where we are to where we want to be.

"Haathi jaaye bazaar kutte bhawkein hazaar",
Not far fetched enough not to relate
A thousand remedies come and go
But the brute force of it remains.

Here is an elephant
We knew; we always did-
It knows as well; it always did;
No love lost was the truth indeed.

What are we to make of the day-
When murky do nights' end lay;
The loud rumble of the engine drown-
All doubts to vitality wipe all frown.

Life itself ran between the rails
Aboard the train, by the door, I stand,
Looking at age as it passes me by;
With stories which cradle and soothe me by.
An alliteration of thoughts to trains.
