Life is like candy
You first must open the wrapper
Then get the sweets inside
And when it's all over
All the different layers and phases
You die
Most people get stuck on step 1
And unfortunately then skip to 3
But to get number two
You have to be more than lucky
Open the candy wrapper

Your cruel words are cursory
Mean less than null to me

Don’t need a PhD
Learnt more in nursery

Sweet song of ‘helping me’
No more than sophistry

Pick out the forgery
Lies with no artistry

Flowing in, eyeless grin
Sugary medicine

Gaslighting, infighting
Snarl under strobe-lighting

Saccharine blathering
Indolent flattering

Backhanded compliments
Heard without inner sense

I reject totally
Self-slighting sorcery

Callous affrontery
Bankrupting bursary

I have observed more
Preserved more

Have learned more
Deserve more

Have value
Don't argue

Can trust me
I must be

Enough being
just, me

So hear me,
my dear me,
coz now we agree

I am worthy

Loving is like
Hanging on a cliff
Once you fall,
There's no coming back

Most try to climb up
Some succed, some fail

But, they don't understand
That there's happiness
In letting go too

Let go and who knows?
Maybe you'll fall somewhere
You'd never want to
Climb up from

Do I write too much?
All of these words
Accumulating so fast
Just waiting to be let out
They're getting clasutrapjobic
What can I say?
I wish I would stop
I ask them if I may
They say no
Not in a harsh tone
But just one saying that they need to be let go
"Okay" I tell them
It feels good after all
But do I write too much?
The question still stands tall
Just me?

Sad
Some people
Are choking back tears
Always

Fearless
rain drops fall upon her head
try push her to the ground
but she stands tall against it all
and strength and love are found

the torment and the cold
of the never ending drops
feed her very core with life
and eventually it stops

the hardships that we face
are not always as we see
sometimes they just happen
to be exactly what we need

the petals soaking wet
stem dripping down with tears
but still the flower stood
in lieu of all her fears

then the sun came out
as the rain began to cease
and her purpose came to light
and she enjoyed a life of peace

Today is the day
I have not been waiting for
A chance to begin.

We have all gone our separate ways.
This family of mine.
Some live with others.
Some of them “moved”.
Far away.

Not me.
yet

But I have a couple “stragglers” near me now.
And, I have been the worst of the bunch.
(minor detail)
Going here, doing that, and not being very good at keeping touch.

Most, but not all,
Have stayed put, more or less.

So, I still have family. They are not all “blood” relatives.
But they are better than that.
I trust them.

Don’t get me started on friends.
They are in unlimited supply.
But I only know a few…now.
