You left me alone
Standing at the corner
Of Betwixt and Between
With nowhere to go
And certainly nowhere
To turn
Only one way to go
Straight ahead
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
With all of my flaws
I carry around each day
Who's  the real turkey
Mary Anne Norton Nov 2020
I have a home
You have none
I have a blanket
You have none
I have food
You have none
Let me share my home
With you
And cover you with love
And nourish you
With food
Let me give you
Shoes and an
Extra hand
To travel the road
So you won't be
So alone

How
How can I cry
When I have
Opened my eyes
How can I
Be mad
When I could
Put my feet
Upon the ground
Unassisted
How can I
Give up
When a Life
Has just been taken
How can I quit
When I have
Only.just
Begun
It may seem
Dark
But light.is
Hiding
Peeking behind
Covered clouds

Today if we can smell
Raise our heads
Lift our voice
And breathe
On our own
Let us give thanks
Imagine.
Summer rain, hand in hand through old city.
Rock wall around, narrow streets.
Small markets and private galleries around
People looking for the roof or restaurant.
And we crossing the street patiently.
Wet and looking forward to each other...
