the dirty poet
that’s a laugh
when it’s time to do the hard stuff
men are slipping out the back
looking for the exit
get me out of here
i need a beer
what’s on tv
while women roll up their sleeves and get to work

he was a good child
know respect and love

mom got sick and died
he was just seventeen

dad is more withdrawn
comes home tired or drunk

he turns twenty no job
and limited education

heard the military recruiting
applied and get recruited

two years past he wanders
about the street

begging for food and things
dragging his prosthetic legs

he stumble past as others
sneered

he vividly recalls he had dreams
once to be someone rich and kind

now they are memories like
his long lost mum

life had gripped so hard
on him

that he reaped the worst
#be kind, everyone has a story

darkness and pain
bleakness bearing reign
smell of lost hopes
sorrow and mopes
yet you braved
mend and saved
lives
#to those who helped in disasters, wars, crises and give hopes when all is lost

it is a big world we are living in
I heard them say and even seen
it sometimes
yet I feel like it is too small
for even me

Outgoing closet
With a shy hanger
Covering private parts
From open exposure
Sometimes a family
Shares the same space
But not the same views

living to die
surviving to live
nothing is safe
there's always
something greyish
somewhere
