The poet lives two lives.
One on the outside,
And one in their mind.

When you look in their eyes
You could see an abyss.

If you looked long enough
You could sink into it.

But most people don’t see it.

Take the time to read the words, though,
And you would know for sure.

The poet lives in two different worlds.
A little escape from the madness.
Or maybe, into.

Ones six feet under
The other  more than 1,000 miles away
The limited time I got to spend
With the two most beautiful people in this world
Are now no longer part of my life
But the limited time
Was the best limited time
I only wish for one thing:
That I could’ve known that the time was limited
Both left us with sadness
Both funny
Both talented
Both away from me
Both gone
Both with the prettiest smile you’ll ever see
Both with wings still not grown
Both that I’ll never see
One six feet under
The other more than 1,000 miles away

I'm trapped in a corner
Confronted on all sides
I don't even try to leave
I just let them eat me alive

My demons
Too many for this small mind
Making my brain black
And leaving myself behind

I've been squashed
I've been killed
I've been left by all my loved ones
But still

Living is more painful than dying
Yet I want to live
Where I've been lately ...
