Sometimes my mind is a shooting star,
blazing out a trail of brilliant ideas,
which soon fizz out as dust.

A space in my head and heart ,
It made me frustrated,
And stressed---a gap between expectations and reality,
I told it to vacate immediately,
ASAP.

Half rotten tomatoes boxes,
Father coaxed,
Throw them in trash,
Ideas come in a flash,
Let's make sauces,
To cover the losses.
Cut away the rotten part,
For a start,
Boil, skin and grind the rest,
Add vinegar,paprika, food colouring, sugar and salt to give taste.
Mum came to hint,
From the garden get fresh mint,
And we came up with fresh Tomato Mint Chutney
A dip for samosas, bhajias,
mishkaki and salads.

History is made by survivors and their point of view.

I made a second copy of all my poems ,
Took them in a folder to the park,
There I clumsily let the folder fall,
My poems fell to the ground and the strong wind blew them here and there.
I looked around to see the destiny of my poems,
Some children collected them to make tiny boats to play in the pond,
Other children used them to make aeroplanes,
Some picnickers used them as wraps for their spoons and bowls,
One cleaner collected some and dumped them in the trash bins,
But, one young girl,
She picked one of my poems and read it,
Quickly she collected as many as she could and tucked them into her pockets,
This poem is awesome she muttered,
I will read the rest at home.
Poetry cannot die.

Life is funny,
I had two lovers,
I had to choose one.
I told each one I was going away for a few days,
A said,"Be safe.God be with you."
B got mad at me.
I chose A, he was a partner.
To B I was a possession.

I got myself admitted into the ICU,
Had the nurse Whats app  I was dying.
Wanted to find out who really cared for me.
Some relatives could not wait for the Will to be read.

Don't talk much,
That day I talked incessantly,
Only mum and dad sat and listened,
They always love you with your flaws.

My five year old son is a terror,
Has a mind of his own,
I  was feeling low,  had a headache, my body ached,
My son came into the room,
Rained me with kisses,
Smeared Vicks on my head and feet,
Snuggled  close to me,
"Mama don't be sad.
I'll be good. We need you."

Everything needs maintenance,
Even your body,
Even your love.

If you have inner peace and self contentment within you,
The others around you will be safe from your thoughts,deeds and actions.

But our children are as stubborn as a mule,
Egoistic and inconsiderate,
With no compassion for their parents,
They have created Satans,
Money and weapons of mass destruction,

And destroy what we have lovingly given them,
