Clouds you stealthily pass us by.
To where i wonder and know not why.
You quietly move with little noise but lots of grace.
Moving at ease throughout the vast space.
Sometimes you are grey and heavy with rain.
Then you release the water and flood our drains.
Sometimes you are light, fluffy and white.
Combined with an early morning sun and you are quite the sight.
Your form creates patterns in the bright blue sky.
Visible on earth to the human eye.
It is quite breathtaking and makes me smile.
Light, fluffy and white clouds, please hang around for a while.
a beautiful sight this morning as i drove to work.

Dad, I know you would not want me to say..
but I miss you every single day.

You were my hero from an early age
my guardian, my teacher, my wisely sage.

You and Mum raised us all with such love.
Handling us all with kitten gloves.

Your knowledge and experiences you would freely impart.
You really were oh so smart.

There was nothing you wouldn't do
To keep your Family close to you.
An arm to hold us, stop us falling down.
An ear to listen when no one else was around.

You were strength
You were smart
You were fun
You were loyal
You were our rock

We won't forget you Dad, you'll never leave our hearts.

Love you **
It would have been my Dads birthday on Sunday, two days after my Daughters, four days after my Grandaughters.

He would have been 84.

My Dads been gone for two years now but I miss him every day.

Since last November ive written and self published three children's books and it is my only regret that my Dad didn't get to see this I know he would have been so proud.

I will be visiting a local place very dear to us on Sunday and raising a glass to my beloved Dad.

Thank you for listening **

You gave your today for all of our tomorrows.
In the process causing your families such grief and sorrow.

8. 5 Million lost their lives
In the ultimate human sacrifice.
So young and a life ahead still to live.
So much to offer so much to give.

From boy to men you grew together.
Defending our Country, you thought you had forever.
Dug into the trenches, making your home.
Standing on guard, guns in hand, brothers in arms.

One last order from the Commander, shoulder to shoulder you go over the top.
Last man standing is when you will stop.

100 YEARS has since passed.
The Great War unfortunately was not the last.
Today we wear our poppies with pride.
To remember all soldiers who have died.
We shed tears for those loved and lost.
At what price, at what cost?
Freedom given, many lives lost.

Thank you to all Soldiers that have been before.
Some gave their lives, some gave their limbs, some gave their minds.
They gave it freely, their gift Freedom to all mankind.

   THANK YOU

Autumnal colours vibrant and strong.
Framing the Landscape, broad and long.
Trees of different type and colour.
Various combinations to discover.
Leaves of Red, Orange, Yellow, Brown and Green.
Combining to create a wonderfully, warming scene.
Deciduous trees, shedding their leaves.
Decorating the floor, treasures left for children to explore.
The days darken, the heat lessens, the wind and rain set in.
This can only mean one thing,  Winter is keen to begin.

Growing up in a whirl
Not sure if I’m boy or girl
Playing with *****, bikes and bats
Doing what is expected by my Mum and Dad
Waiting for the day I can make them proud
Make the change, grow my wings and fly
Change my appearance, set myself free
Live a new life, just being me.

From an early age, being picked on daily by other boys
Pulling my hair, kicking, taking my toys
Calling me names, designed to hurt
Spiting in my face, spraying hateful name tags on my shirt
Fighting with my parents, begging them to set me free
Let me live my life, let me be me

People judge who they see, without getting to know the real me
I don’t fit the normal mode
I don’t act as I am told
Some people consider me brave and bold
Others consider me outside the mould

Here I sit, fifteen years old
Waiting for the seasons to change from warm to cold
Slashing my wrists, marking my arms, using a knife to self-harm
Waiting for Winter to become Spring
Waiting for a new age to begin, a life of choices, a life fulfilling
Only then will I be free to spread my wings and fly
Transforming from caterpillar to a living breathing, happy, Butterfly
Watching a series called Butterfly about a young boy who feels strongly that he should be a girl.
Growing up is hard, children are hurtful when they don't understand.
Anyone who is different for any reason knows how hard it can be.
The poem is inspired by the series.

Pumpkin spiced lattes and Pumpkin pie
Slimy fingers and frogs eyes
Masks that make you scream with fear
All in abundance at this time of year

Carved Pumpkin faces atop your steps
Candles lit and inset
Giving the Pumpkin an eerie glow
Making it look ghostly, ethereal

Children in costumes, fancy dress
Hoping to catch your eye, impress
Knocking on doors, trick or treat
Hoping to collect a yummy sweet

Pumpkin spiced lattes and Pumpkin pie
Slimy fingers and frogs eyes
Masks that make you scream with fear
All in abundance at this time of year
Happy Halloween my friends

As the sun sets on another glorious day.
All the colours of fire, come out to play.
Red, yellow and orange light up the sky.
Creating patterns to delight your eye.
Sitting, relaxing, drink in hand.
As the sunsets on these gorgeous sands.
Beautiful sunsets in Aruba
