One
The world around me slows to a crawl,
No one around me knows me at all.
I look over the crowd of familiar faces,
From various times and different places.
They laugh and they play, one and another,
All with secret pains, I’m just like the others.
The longer I stare into the mirror

The longer it stares back at me

The closer it is that I listen

The louder it is that it screams

The mirror looks on with wanting eyes

Reading deeper into the age

Looking past all of the written lies

In the reflection it displays
When asked what I do for a living
I say that I am a poet
When asked how I make a living
I say that I don't, don't you know it

It has nothing to do with the pay
But more about all the pleasure
In a nut shell all I can say
Is that right there is beyond any measure

Its about all of you and its about none of you,
that is the beauty of the universe.

the problem with
being a poet in love,
is that you savour
& trust each word your lover has
without  question.

we are simply in love
with bare literature,
spoken from the lips of someone we hold
in higher regard
than ourselves sometimes.

when you love a poet
each word you utter,
should be a piece of artwork

each sentence,
a highly thought out structure of awe and beauty to leave us seeping
in the warmth of your voice
caressing such fine words

so when deciding that you love someone,
who writes or reads
fill their souls with beauty, memories & truth especially,
for a poet's heart breaks at ease.
thoughts.

Rain

Lying numbly on the street
Rain pats
Dribbling from fingers to feet.

Reminiscing of times now past
As rain pours
Wiping away tears that come too fast.

With an aching heart and empty mind
Rain dribbles
Searching for loved ones left behind.

Eyes grow heavy and bones crack
As rain falls
Sending more memories of the day everything went black.

Unable to go back and unable to move on
Rain spills
And all is dead and gone.

She never noticed the love He offered
She never knew His Heart
He wanted more of Her
What She performed wasn’t enough
She just never spent time in His Presence
Doing all the right things
She had tried to please Him
but yet...
Saddest words ever
“I never knew You”
Now read the lines backwards... I saw someone else had shared a poem that could be read forward and backwards not too long ago.  So I decided to try it too.  Its harder than it sounds :)
How do you make emotions stop?
Take love to the edge, then let it drop?
How can you just let it all go,
When holding tight is all that you know?
Never just turned and walked away
With a heart that’s crying out to stay.

Letting go just takes all your might,
When doing what’s best doesn’t feel right.
Knowing there is no one to blame,
Knowing who it was that fanned the flame.
Knowing who chose to cross that line,
Hanging too tight to what wasn’t mine.

Wrapped up so tightly in this web,
Yet wanting to tear away instead.
Walk away and just let it go,
It sounds so easy, and yet I know,
Its so hard to just let it lay.
Wish it wouldn’t have to be this way.

Preparing herself in the early morning hours
Burning her hair into intricate curls
Taking minutes upon minutes to decide on a color of eyeliner that they'd appreciate
As the hours tick by
I have to wonder when and why
The world decided what beauty and appeal was
Washing his, hers, and all of our minds
With the ***** lies that say we aren't beautiful in our own skin
When did this happen?
Will it ever end?

Silently
   She built a wall
Silently
   Because it was
Too hard to explain why

Silently
   She built a wall
Stepped behind
   To hide her self
No one could hurt her now

Silently
   She hid her pain
Silently
   She let none near
The wall was not enough

Silently
    She built more walls
Silently
   She made a fort
Encompassed by her walls

The walls let
   No Light inside
The Silence
   Became a tomb
Her heart became a stone
