Millennials
Taylor Victoria Jun 2016
"You're too young
to be this tired."

They say this around
grimaces that are
supposed to be smiles,
and eyes that are
silently screaming
because they know that
they have effectively
and efficiently ruined our lives.

"******* millennials
are ruining this country."

They say this around
clenched fists that are
holding on to things like
prejudice and injustice
that they refuse to acknowledge
is their own doing.

"It's not our faults;
we're suffering, too."

We're not saying this;
we're screaming it
at the top of our lungs,
but it's falling to deaf ears.
No matter how many statistics,
no matter how many news stories,
no matter how many debts,
no matter how many deaths,
no matter how many accounts of pain
we try and try and try to show them,
they refuse to acknowledge it.

"We've messed up,
but so have you."
December 31 2015, this was bitter, lol

i claimed to love you, but
i fought you off when you
                                                                          came for me; when
you came to make me like
                                                                                                      you.

                                                                                   [it wasn't good
                                                                                             enough.]

                                                                       now i am exactly like
                                                          you are, (your blood polutes
                                                                         mine)
and it makes
                                                                                      me feel sick.

i wish i could say the same
for the blood on
my tongue.
i think i was kinda feeling a vampirish vibe with this one. maybe bc my friends were talking about them. i dunno. sixth grade me would love this, though.

i should probably thank you
Taylor Victoria Jul 2014
you radiated more than
the sun, and shone
brighter than the moon
on a cloudless night, and
for some
reason you decided
that i was
worth your time.

i spent nights wondering
why you even
gave me the time
of day and
i still don't know
the answer
to that, but
i'm happy that
you did because you
are possibly the
best thing to
ever happen to me.
i posted this on wp and i kinda liked it so here

why i do this to
myself when i hate
the scars that cover
my body afterwards.

a lot of people
feel that
their significant
others aren't with
them when they
wake up because
they're not in
the bed with them.

and yeah, sometimes
i would like you
to be there
physically,
but just because
i can't touch you
doesn't mean that
you're not
with me
when i open
my eyes.
this is really lame but i had to post it somewhere or else it would be collecting dust. so here you go, i guess.

sickly sweet
Taylor Victoria Jul 2014
your breath reeked
of cigarettes and
coffee, and

your tongue was
covered with bittersweet
lies and deceit.

i will follow you down
this horrible rabbit
hole,
if only to get
another dose of you.
i don't know what this is, but i figured why not start off with a brand new poem, so i pulled something out of my ***. i probably shouldn't have.
