I took a deep breath, filled my lungs with sun kissed air and blew a wish into a dandelion. I watched it float gently into the wind and then I closed my eyes. I wondered if the critters and creatures could hear whispers of my wishes as the pieces flew by. I wondered if my dreams sunk into the earth and the trees absorbed them through their roots and displayed them as stories written within lines on their leaves. I wondered if the wind and the bugs and the energy in the earth would all conspire with fate in an unfathomably grand and beautiful manor to bring my wishes to life. Then I shook my hopeful head at how silly it all sounded, and I opened my eyes.

And there you were.
When gravity has shifted & everything has changed,
and the hopes and the lives and the dreams  rearranged.
I push ink into paper & draw visions with words,
so the hopes and the lives and the dreams will be heard.

How blessed are we to be breathing?
How lucky are we that we can still hear our hearts beating??
How fortunate are we to have a blanket of stars above our heads & the sunlight in the morning across our beds???
Hey you,

With your hair a mess & a head full of hate. You've climbed mountains with those legs & you've carried life upon those hips. You've worn so many smiles that they've found home within your skin. You've got a solid gold heart beneath your chest that's covered in cracks yet you still stand in that mirror a triumphant human being, with too much love in your heart to see your reflection with hate.
She writes, only what's needed to say. Pen to paper, ink drawn in curves, to shape words, that free her soul from the weight of the day.
Just as a troubled artist finds solace in a blank canvas, I find life, in still silence and moonlight on my skin. Beams of light strung together. Stories written across the sky, tales of war, tales of circumstance, but mostly, tales of love. Poems spilled over the stars, promises of possibility. And just as that troubled artist finds peace in his vision brought to life, manifested before his eyes, I am intoxicated by the sheer power of the moon to tame my wild heartbeat & soothe my soul.
