If anyone,
I thought you'd be the one to look past natural beauty
If anyone,
You thought I was special, and be there til thee
End,
Like a book case, filled to compacity, it's not the last of me
This isn't blasphemy, just a blast for you, and a cup of tea
But,
I was the sweetener, and the reasoner for this measure
But it's not up to scale, I'm on the rail, waiting for the weather
To,
Clear up, or whether or not you would to
My memory's hazy, and you're not too hasty to
The point it drives me crazy
Or,
Am i just an average guy
Who goes on every endeavor, so i can fly
With a halo, and some wings, when i die?
I guess you could say life is a joke,
and the flat line is the punchline.
I may be young, but I think I'm wise for my age.
We are the lost ones, they're ready to rage
And I spit venom with my tongue, ready for a stage,
But I'm overstrung, so I'm locked up in this cage
Of uncertainty, normally I'd enter your heart like a burglary,
but conservatively, to help myself reach serenity
before my heart changes to a dark shade of burgundy
The urgency of your love is more valuable than currency
Together, a joint enterprise, I just need your company
Help, the urge to off myself is increasing in intensity
Now please hurry, it's an atrocity, edging the ledge of insanity
Stop me before I slaughter double you's (W's) with ease (E's)

where clear blue sky meets water's deep
his sunbeams reach her waves to tease,
to warm her currents, foaming spray;
dawn to dusk when daylight fades,
till only afterglow remains,
an interlude of celestial stage.

he speaks to her on written sky
and in the mournful sea-bird's cry,
wraps sultry ribbons in her tresses,
his fingers linger in caresses,
and in soothing choreography
he gently stirs her ocean's breeze.

he sends her gifts of palm and dates,
wrapped on waves in salty sprays;
watches her with much delight,
he sings to her each eventide,
love songs with the calling gull,
and rocks her tween the gusts and lulls.

wedded at horizon’s edge,
devotion to her he has pledged,
to have forever and to hold,
his comfort to her storm-tossed soul;
his tender kiss on tear-stained cheek,
where clear blue sky meets water's deep.

post script.

when one gazes
into the vastness
of sea and sky,
of what is from
height to depth
an endless blue,
one cannot but think
of eternal devotion,
of the relationship
between two who have
pledged their forever troth!

as i wonder from what recesses
this one came, i remember…
our 36th wedding anniversary
is fast approaching...
i’ve been thinking of what to gift her
that will make her cry anew.

**thank you to Hello Poetry for
the tremendous honor bestowed
with their designation of this poem as the daily
and to all who have expressed their heartfelt
love and appreciation... your message
came through loud and clear...
there can be no denying it,
i am an incredibly blessed man
because of each of you!
thank you, truly,
from the bottom of my heart!

you live in a place in me
that no one dares to touch
not even myself
especially myself

you leave a hole the size of your feet
every time i ask you to leave

this is an(other) act of blackmailing myself
because whenever i ask around
for help to cover the hole somehow
they always answer the same thing

*sorry honey,
that is not my shoe size
When my eyes are weeds,
And my lips are petals, spinning
Down the wind that has beginning
Where the crumpled beeches start
In a fringe of salty reeds;
When my arms are elder-bushes,
And the rangy lilac pushes
Upward, upward through my heart;

Summer, do your worst!
Light your tinsel moon, and call on
Your performing stars to fall on
Headlong through your paper sky;
Nevermore shall I be cursed
By a flushed and amorous slattern,
With her dusty laces' pattern
Trailing, as she straggles by.
