Later in the morning when
stood by the fallen tree
it makes sense of the
nonsense to me.

The terrier barks at the swan
but is wily enough not
to bark on,
the swan as swans do
swans off.

My toes are tickled by the slow stream
even as my eyes are tricked by
the jet stream
the world turns as the
sun burns off the dew.

Pass me the vase, will you dear
I've picked some flowers to place in it
They are purple, yellow, white and red
Don't they just make you smile

I will place them by your bed
So when you retire for the night
You won't miss the beauty
That's painted on their faces

Take a moment, will you
To appreciate their worth
Lean in close and take a sniff
Their fragrance is most genuine

And as you wake, remember
I've placed those flowers there
For you to enjoy and adore
If only for a season

it's not as black as people say,
more a pale purple grey,
silver clouds and tires skies,
teal lips and dark blue lies

it's a whisper in the trees,
a lonely boat amidst the seas,
pastel waves hitting the beach,
the golden sand just out of reach.

tick tock tick tock
the stars slowly decay
look up look up
the sky's been washed away.
don't let me be gone

stop.
who are you?
this is no place for outsiders.
the night is a ravenous creature and the stars
don’t shine for wandering men.
how did you get here?
was it the voices in your head or the paths your wounds have bled?
stay back, it’s not safe.
you underestimate the distances ahead.
your mind will try to trick you but please, be warned.
the lost souls look like trees and the trees like snakes,
it seems you don’t realize what’s at stake
but the moment you step behind these gates…
it is too late to turn back now.
I wish you all the best.
may the darkness turn to light and the light guide you.
may your feet not turn to stone and your story lay at rest.
one day the gravel path will turn to dust.
one day your steel body will turn to rust.
and yet I trust you shall carry on.
you must.
