My prayer is mostly this
Dear God I do insist
That I see all of life
Through your righteous eyes

That you take this shattered man
Doing with me all you can
And what's been lost I hope to find
Through your righteous eyes

That life I may endure
In all of this and more
Where Salvation of mankind I find
Through your righteous eyes

May blessings not be missed
As I hold on tight to this
Fast the ties that bind
Through your righteous eyes
This time I promise to do better
Hold you closer to my heart
I was a fool for losing you forever
Sorry was the word that tore us apart

This time we will stay together
I swear to cherish every day
My eyes have cried ever since our ties severed
Ever since the day you went away
maybe a little off, but I find it hard to get good rhymes flow and make perfect sense in an acrostic poem
we keep them in cages
we want all of our friends to see
so we put them on stages
they should be out there running free

my friend on the table
won't stop scratching at the glass
I've chosen to disable
this animal's natural path
This isn't about domesticated pets. This is the reason I don't go to zoos. It is so sad to see that look in an animals eyes.
I am not one to treat a beast decent
but I've fed that demon as of recent
this creature eats my peaceful pieces
with hate increased, my whole decreases
no more free meals
have a seat and see these majestic creatures
reduced to only a beastly feature
they follow the lead of the keepers
freedom will never be their teacher
~time~
when i was naive and young
held my tinder hand
walking through its sand

~time~
defined my teenage years
promises that were made
giving time away

~time~
took me to the middle age
where the clock had a face
that frowned at its waste

~time~
says old now is what i am
making up timely demands
as it jerks me by the hand

~time~*
gives itself away
then comes back for more to take
time for times own sake
The turgid brown ***** rolling river
But above the Aspen stands tall
Leaves quivering, shaking, falling
But Aspen roots go deep
Aspens do not fall
Each leaf that in the water drifts
Another life does fade
Each leaf that on the soil lands
Another life regained
