something
broken—

a bone,
a heart,
a home—

collect
the pieces
carefully

and work
them over

over time

tumble and polish
tumble and polish

make the pain shine.

We baby boomers,
brought into this world
millennials--
strong, persisting,

:::::
we're~~~~ peaceful streams
....they're radical rivers...
their blood, restlessly stirs

:::::
young, fiery courage
..........pulsates within...
.......racing, cresting
............upon surf's cusp

:::::
...embracing new beliefs
......to the point of
.....defying old school

:::::
.....where boomers turn deaf,
.........................millennials listen...
......cold waters, sometimes
.................... divide...

:::::
......they ought to
.....sit down...talk
...........and compromise,
....................or else.....

(In my home, at times, it's the other way around...

I was just a lonely boy
And always had I been
The world became a kinder place
When first I met Rosene

She had the most enchanting smile
That I had ever seen
My heart jumped like a salmon's leap
When first I loved Rosene

We lived together many years
That now seem like a dream
Our children grew and then they flew
To tend their pastures green

She fought as hard as she could fight
But fate was cruel and mean
The world became a poorer place
The day we lost Rosene

The last word of the bird
Please o please o please
He was spoken to the air
I have not too much time
I only have few seconds
Gosh are you listening
That flickering light
Dancing behind the leaves
Waving calling my name
Gosh
A flock of birds angels sky
Eyes of holiness
Please my devoted godly air
Will you remember my name
I will sing a song
While floating in the air
This lyrical with great desire
Will always be in my heart
At heaven's gate
I will mention your name
Holding the key of happiness
I will fly across the seas
I will fly across the mountains
I will pray for humankind to
Have a changing heart

by
Jean C Bertrand
I picked up a bottle
With a liquid that burned like fire.
I looked at the label
And there it said Desire.

It burned up my insides
And torched my heart.

To this day I still have a scorched tongue
And words turn to ash.
But my heart still aflame
Feels more than anyone cares to ask.

It seems I still don't have enough spark
Or even enough heat
To make something more in life
Than just ends meet.

I drank from a bottle of liquid fire
And the directions said,
You gotta reach higher.
I will carry love like the most precious trinkets in my pockets
and I  will wear my soul on my sleeve every day like I always have.
