There are few things so certain as uncertainty,
Or so perilous as truth.

Darlings of philosophy have fallen
Effortlessly into darkness,
Failing to find an argument
In favor of the absolute,
Not knowing that their fault lay in
Even seeking it in the first place.

If only more were to quit
Searching for answers,

They might find that it is
Only the question which is worthwhile.

Life does not exist to be known,
It exists to be created,
Made through the living of it,
Infinite, if only we have the courage
To will more than to wonder.

Why am I here?
I've thought about death more than people who are dead now
I've imagined driving my car into a tree
I've imagined sinking beneath the water
But not fighting to catch a breath
So why am I here?

I've thought about living and happiness
But joy is a foreign concept to me

My anxious mind searches for reasons in everything
But ceases to find a purpose for my own existence

And I love how you spoke my name
Like an unanswered prayer
That never came

Why did you have to come
When my heart's not done healing
From that last love
Where my heart was left reeling

I was just getting up from that fall
But here you come, teasing
With that beautiful smile
And eyes that seem to know my soul

I'm still scared
Heart clutched to my chest
I don't know if I could take that chance
To fall in love...yet again

So I'm just waiting
For you to take that first step
When you would hold your hand out
And ask me for mine
