People suffer in silence
No matter how many words
Can reach another’s ears
No one can truly understand

How can I explain
Not being able to breathe a single breath
When air is surrounding me completely
My lungs have all but shriveled up,
Leaving me heaving, coughing and desperate

How can one person explain to another
Losing the atmosphere that protects them
When the earth is still intact

How can one person explain to another
Drowning in immensely deep waters
When they’re standing on high ground
And I choke on my own tears

Sun
It makes me sad to know
That, to me, you’re the sun,
and I’m only one of your planets
Constantly orbiting at a distance

I guess that I’m lucky.
At least I’m not a star,
In a different solar system
Glittering in the background

But they are lucky too,
They can’t get ****** in
With your forcible pull
They are free from your gravity

There's something about the wild,
That is alluring and calls my name
It drags me down its winding paths
And brings me back up again

There's something about the wild,
That's so exciting and so pure
It cleanses me of all past notions
And teaches me something new

There's something about the wild,
That's savage and unrelenting
It chews me up and spits me out
And toughens my outer skin

There's something about the wild,
That is mysterious and baffling
It confounds and twists my thoughts
And makes my simple mind reel

There's something about the wild,
That is alluring and calls my name
It drags me down its winding paths
And brings me back up again

I am everything
I am the air that you breathe,
The warmth you feel when you step into the sun
The breeze that tickles your skin on a cool evening
The stars that light up your unforgettable nights
The comfort of your bed when you’ve had the longest day
I am everything.

Or I can be nothing
Simply not exist in your realm
A place without air,
Without the sun,
Without the wind,
Without the stars,
Without a home.

Without me, you are nothing, too.

I stand before you naked and bare,
Vulnerable and scared
With trembling hands, and shaky breath
Because you gingerly stripped me
Of the armor I had long ago melded to my being.
You carefully untied the intricate knots
That had tangled my chaotic mind.
You skillfully unfastened the clasps,
Which held together my crippled heart.
You watched as my insecurities
Fell to the ground in a pile around my ankles.

I stand before you naked and bare
With trembling hands, and shaky breath
Because the impassioned stare your eyes posses
Pierces the façade that I had shrouded myself with.
The softness of your caressing lips
Comforts the exhaustion of fleeing love.
The heat of your searching hands
Melts the ice that encases my thoughts.
The pressure of your firm body
Pushes away the worries of acceptance.

I stand before you naked and bare
Because your love has set me free from myself.
