You weren't mine.
You never would be.
Not mine to hold,
Nor to keep.
I will never hold your hand
In the dark,
As we walk along the river.
I will never kiss your smile,
As you whisper my name.
I will never rest my head ,
On your shoulder,
As we slow dance
to your favorite songs.
Nor stay up at night,
Talking about your favorite books,
And movies.
I won't be the one arguing with you,
When we've had our first fight,
Or the second.
I won't be your best friend,
Your partner in crime.
Heck, I won't walk down that aisle.
Loving someone is dangerous
Especially when that someone
Could never love you back.
