Apr 2019
With care, nutritious soil laid over
The hard shell love had moulded.
Small hope sprouted out from what seemed
To be endless days and nights.
Vigilant hand covered the twinkling dews in fear
They may be blinded by dazzling
Beam of early horizon.

Display of peaceful green soothes
Ever growing concerns.
Prideful grin drawn upon the face
Whenever those fine leaves
Stretched before the morning rays.

Those days, watching you grow wild
Within the gentle touch of a small garden,
Filled me with arrays of emotions.
Anxious to see you withstand
The hostile plays of nature.
Exhilarated whenever your tiny
Limbs danced to the rainy tempo.
Tranquility sat beside us as we
Made conversation our daily routine.

Those days I miss with great regret.
How the excitement to see
The opening of the bud, greeting
The world with your mesmerizing smile,
Painted the stars in my dream.
The star by your name guided
Me towards the land of paradise.

Looking out the petit, square framed window,
A spot of presence brings scarred nostalgia.
The very space my heart withered
With a bud that was due to blossom.
How depressing it is to see youth pass on before they can see the vast future ahead of them.
