To himself, he sat thinking, by the corner
Blinking his tears away, just a warmer
Drowning in syrup, he'd called it when he was younger
The thoughts filling his mind, couldn't get any darker

Just when he thought
His heart wouldn't last any longer
She came around the corner
Her heart in it no longer

But seconds passed
Words exchanged
They grew to lean on
Each other's soft change

They filled each other's
Emptiness
With a void not devoid
Of Happiness

In it they fell
And through it became well
And their confidence to swell
For each other, defied Hell

Through thick and thin
They were always within
One another's reach
For the trust between
They never breach

Tears mingled
With smiles of care
And sighs of being there
At one's share

He was the half
She was the other

To himself, he sat thinking, by the corner
Blinking his tears away, just a warmer
She'd never left, till death befell her.

There's something that just doesn't feel right in this poem, is pretty sure it's not poetic enough, but well, I'll work on it.
