May 2018
Love owes him proof
And guarantees written down
Or so he believes
His eyes caught by
Flies attracted to bright,
White lights in the subway
So sober and grim
How could anything,
Or someone, ever
Feel the same for him.
I had a date. On the way home I saw these flies attracted to an ugly lamp.
