Dec 2017
i can hear the fireworks
             far away
i can hear the laughter and music
of those who don’t want me there
i can hear the frowns and whispers
             of those who judge me

darkness engulfs me
              i am inside a box
for walls
which i wish to leave
and break apart

i am wanting to go
have fun
swipe the worried frowns
of their faceless crowns

but i am not being able
to br e   a    k
this box
a p a r t
how the holidays have got me
