While I can't tell you how I'm feeling,
I can play you a song.
I can string together chords
That tell tales much larger than mine
And that stretch from the mountains to the sea
You'd be surprised.
How a song can bring you to a foggy day
And you can almost smell the rain
And hear every little droplet which remains
You'd be surprised.
How a melody can show you a field
Filled with a fresh snowfall
And how you can feel the cold
On your bare skin
You'd be surprised.
So when I sing to you
The tale of my struggles and confusion
You'll feel what I felt
And you will hug me.
Because you'll feel the pain in my chest
And you'll wonder how I managed to breathe all this time
You'd be surprised.
