A rhyme and a rhythm doesn't mean **** in this world
Listen up,
you ain't got a chance at survival if you spend your days looking up
from your spoon
Thinkin' about space and time and the stars and the moon

Every sucker from here to there has got a poem in his head
but it don't have to make sense to be good
it don't have to be ugly to be bad

And I can give you a minute or two to think
about one two three
where'd it go?
made you blink
even if just for a second,
your mind shut itself up
Giving you one moment of silence
One bit of peace ain't enough
but it's a start

My heart's been busted
It's broken and bruised
It's hurt and confused
All the glue's coming unglued and I don't know what to do

We've all got a rhythm
It's called a heartbeat
And maybe you can't hear it
over the sounds of cars on the street
But it's there
Louder and stronger than you can mistake
for anything else
It's like a body earthquake
making you fall to your knees
as you shiver and shake

Every stupid soul likes to think he's bold
That's he's hot enough to melt the cold
and tell a story that's never been told
But we're all mistaken

Every rapper thinks he's Gandhi
cuz he makes a difference with his words
But the best rap I ever heard was by Blondie
And mostly it was just so **** absurd

I can't lie, my teeth would fall out of my mouth and leave my gums rotting
I'm here to speak my mind,
you can't stop my tongue from spewing what it thinks is the truth

And even when my eyes are blind,
the lies are there for the spotting
I see it from a mile away,
and set fire to the day
from the friction of my diction
sparking lights along the way
