She is the hushed laughter and whispered secrets of children at 2 am in the morning, when the sun has barely risen and the darkness envelops you in a warm embrace.

She is the giddy feeling of rebellion when you stay awake past bedtime.

She is hot chocolate and marshmallows on a cold winter night. Settled in front of the fireplace, hands and feet wrapped comfortably and shielded from extremities.

She is newly washed sheets and the sweet smell of laundry on a sunny spring day, when the birds are chirping out the open window and the wind is howling along.

She is long road trips and wild adventures, exciting and unpredictable. She will keep your heart racing for miles and miles.

But she is also lazy Sundays when you do nothing but sit comfortably on a hammock, curled up with your favorite book. Your breathing, slow and steady.

She is raging storms and hurricanes. A powerful force that could not be reckoned with. She will leave a visible trail on her path and everything she touches will be scarred with a memory.

She is your favorite song played on repeat over and over again, yet you never tire of. She will have you memorize every word and every note to her story. You will find yourself echoing them in your sleep and while you lay to rest.

She is every familiar yet captivating face you see in a crowd.

She is a magnetic force. A temptation and a sin.

She is soft hugs and smiles and air kisses.

She’s a walking contradiction and my, have I never loved anyone as deeply as her.

She is safety and comfort, and when I cast my eyes upon her face,

I see home.
