My tongue is covered in paper cuts from the many letters I've written you, today
But each time I seal one up, I end up throwing it away
My blood and saliva mixed in with the envelope glue
My trash can is filled with pathetic thoughts of you...

Woeful words traced from my tongue and out onto the page
Affection that I've reached in and ripped out through my ribcage
Wrinkles on the paper from the tears that I have dropped
Heartache and obsession that cannot seem to be stopped

I wrote you this poem, but I'll throw it away
Your ears are closed, your heart is shut,
and I'm out of clever things to say
