I met you when I was young
you were handsome, you were fun
you were cool, just smooth as glass
you had style! you had class!
you were a rogue dressed as a swell
your lies were from the pit o hell.

(chorus)
can I tell it like it is?
smoke and mirrors, all show biz
not what you say, it's what you do
the devil is more straight than you!
can I witness? testify?
when you're truthful, it's a lie

things are never as they seem
I'd believe, but it's a dream
when you talk your face should crack
fingers crossed behind your back
you're so twisted and unwise
you're believin' your own lies!

(chorus)

how can you even stand yourself ?
you need guidance, you need help!
What'll you do when the reaper calls?
you stand before almighty God?
I hate to say it, but it's true...

you'd prob'ly LIE TO HIS FACE, TOO!!!

(chorus)
