Still we turn and turn
With the Earth.
As life after life
Fades into the ambience
Of time,
Still we turn.
Profound wisdom reverberates
Into static,
Beauty is lost to
A whitewashed history,
Gallantry evaporates like
Wisps of smoke,
And still we turn.
Even amidst all manner
Of strife and turmoil
And evil
The Earth persists.
It was turning
Before us.
It turns
With us.
And when we're gone,
It will continue to turn.

It just so happens

You and I

Are not so important

*After all.
