lies they cover the heart with
a very thin see through mask
yet no heart is made of stone
those words of jagged lies
they cut through the bone
causing some tattered edges
of puffy pain filled eyes
leaving continuing scars

the truth may hurt causing
a misty covered mirror
a tear or two may chip
opening the eyes answering
those questions in thought
causing doubt but never asked
the truth may be a bit messy
but it will always set you free
