Sounds
Amber Meza Jan 2020
In this moment, everything sounds like him
Everything feels like him
Breathing feels harder without
And without feels empty
Why did I let him get this deep
Into my subconscious
Where he now walks through my dreams
It hurts more letting go
Than it does keeping the same energy

Second chances
Amber Meza Feb 2018
These feelings.
They don't come and go.
They are eternal.

Love.
Anger.
Pain.

Forgiveness is not something easy to come by.
I have to remind myself not to give in so easily.
Do they deserve the second chance?
Do I deserve the pain that may come with it?

I don't.

Evicted
Amber Meza Jan 2018
The victim mentality.
Whether it be based on your natural ways,
Or through pressure.
Evict yourself from it.

Whether its based on immaturity,
Or whose root cause is deep insecurity.
Push through it.
Achieve success.
Make amends.

Never offer forgiveness where its not warranted.
But be weary.
If you burn bridges,
The foundation might be intact,
But you would have to rebuild.

Can you handle it?

Rhyme and reason
Amber Meza Jan 2018
You are sunshine. You are rain.
You are the one who changed the game.
You are quality. You are truth.
You lift those around you.
Your family is your friends.
Your friends are your family.
Just keep being you.
Love.

Would you take the L?
Amber Meza Jan 2018
What do you do when the person you're feelin, aint feelin you?
How do you act? What can you say?
You gotta stop goin on this way.
Attracting the one who are afraid of their truths
Is nearly as bad as those who spin a web of lies.
Don't get caught up.

When your back is against the wall, who are you going to be?
Quit glancing back before you catch their eye again.
They'll rope you back in with their silver tongues.
Playing you like a five time ringer at the apex of their game.

Then again, what do you have to lose?

Everyone is just living their lives
Not knowing that the person next door is fighting for theirs
Do you turn a blind eye to their pain?
Or will you fight alongside them?

Fifth Gear
Amber Meza Jan 2018
Changes occurred.
Fault lines shifted.
She was swallowed.

She was reborn.

I am imperfection.
I am growth.
Amber Meza Jan 2018
I've penned verses for you
But it was always about me
Because I only talk about myself
Even now, I bet you'll shake your head
And as I write this, I see
I can change
I have changed
You hurt me
