Take only what you can carry,
Only what you need.
Just enough to feed and water
You and a faithful steed.

Forget the path well trodden,
That will not help you on your way.
Instead forge your own trail
For others to follow one day.

Never shy from an opportunity
Throw yourself through every door.
For this life is an adventure,
Now go,
Explore!

Time went by after you left,
The dawn was still cold as i wept,
The daybreak dews matched my tears,
As they fell upon the leaves in sphere.
Sometimes i ponder,
If there could’ve been a wonder,
When you held my hand and told me,
“I will no longer remain here, you see”.
For you knew your death was trailing behind,
Making you wish you could just rewind,
Just to let me hold your hand,
And when i did,
Your hands were cold and blue,
For i have been holding the hands of my mother,
Who had been long gone.
See me smiling.
See it big.
I found a woman to make me one happy man.
Each day is brighter.
Each day is great.
Cause I'm have a happy love, happy life.

No sorrow here.
Just no sadness to speak about.
I am proud to do a shout out to a happy love, happy life.

Just like the sun above that radiate.
This woman I adore makes mine so bright.
Each day living I feel so blessed.
I found a lover to call my treasure chest.
Sometimes I write poetry
most times it writes me.

Showing me things
I need to see.

Things I need to acknowledge
to be a better man.

Not to change the world,
but to change what I can.

Most often times
it's a change in me,
A reflection of a man
I don't want to see.

Sometimes I write poetry,
most times it writes me.

And the more that I write
the more I'll like what I see.

And maybe someday
if I write well enough,

The man in the mirror
will smile back at me.

I kept the book you gave me,
the one you never finished.
The corners are still creased
where you stopped -
a moment frozen in paper.

I tried to read past it once,
but the words were ghosts
of a story I didn’t know
how to end.

So it sits on my shelf,
not quite forgotten,
not quite forgiven,
like the memory of you.

Lost Wings, Lost Waves

In my harsh air, she was my flight,
A whisper of wings in the fading light.
Through raging waves, she was my boat,
A quiet strength to keep me afloat.

Yet foolish hands let go too soon,
Like chasing echoes of the moon.
Now winds still howl, and waters rise,
But she's a shadow in my skies.
An emptiness grows
As I watch the world burning.
I wish man was good.
If I was afraid of death,
Between birth and death there is life,
Death is inevitable,
It will come any second,
So why fear something which is surely to come,
Just focus on life,
The precious Gift you have.

"Is it okay to use a thesaurus?"
Yeah, be natural. Don't bore us.
If it's a word that you already use;
Have fun, feel free to choose!
Readers of real words adore us!

We are not 'wizards' inscribing arcane slate
If it's not-mode or out of fashion, perhaps wait...
Language is alive!
Cut that antiquated jive!
Don't be that 'word of the day' guy everybody hates

Write, good words!
