December Breeze
Somber sweet
            December breeze
    Sift unto
                           My skin
      with ease.

                                   Bring the crystal crunch
                                               of white
                                          Lift each spirit
                                         With your might

Freeze in place the lines we'll make
as frosty folks
elate

Adorn smiles with your taste
As sweet delights do get ate

Amid that wintry starlit awe
Orion ensures the end of fall
Pleiades glistens oh so gently
A sight so merry, it fills my reverie!

Whisper to the chilling cold,
That stubborn air, so proudly bold:
"Bring them flakes and hopeful wake"

                                                    So it may snow
                                                                                           So it may hold.

Aloe
A lovely lady I once knew
With golden laces that looped her shoes
It was out within that noxious rye,
Where cautiously, she caught my eye!

Oh how her heart could sing,
Delicate as though an angel's wing!
From her shone such a glow
Like Sun to seed her soul could grow.

Without the choir with which she inspires
This nature of living will soon expire.
Like the dirt road tore with bore
Neglected with scorn, troubled by chore.

She was the antidote in all this mess
That special gal among all the rest
Whom I wish could cure the barrenness
Which poisons me so, I do attest!

What is Heaven?
Where is that place
Which ascends spirit to peace,
When exists only joy and grace
Where every trouble does cease?

Wondrous paradise;
Horizon of hue
Every sight experienced;
Always something new.

In the presence of this light
How could one deny

My Heaven

Is you.

Palm Tree Slump
I enjoy my amazing paradise!
It keeps my woes at bay
The soothing scent of coconut palms
With the summer breeze in sway

I enjoy the clear sunrise!
The heat of the Sun caress my face
It keeps the fears from my mind’s eternal way
With a scarcity of clouds to mask the gentle fray

I am delightful of the time of existence here!
The careless waves and transitional craves
What shall happen on the next day?

I dislike the sweeping monsoons
As they howl with gross disapproval
And the deluging rain that gouges down
Drenches the hungry quicksand in which I drown…

Autumnal Grace
Away with the light of Summer,
Warmth of days will surely diminish.
Chromatic leaves sweep and swoop upon each other,
Blanketing quilt; a tessellation finish.

Sweet Autumn,
Spiced fair to account its name
Prodigious, and far from lame!
A season with truly original custom.

Permeating brilliance
Rich hues; copper and amber glow.
Day reaches sentence
Night begins to grow.

Oh sweet Autumn,

Subtle shrouding darkness,
Sorrowful rain precipitates.
Temperature of unique sharpness,
Flourishing life emancipates.

Welcome to furnishing Fall
Period of brisk enthrall.
Somber reign; transient existence
Harbinger of wintry persistence.

Bittersweet Autumn…
I set my eyes upon
A scale of gray stone
Where my mind begins to sift and wonder
My ambition! If only known!

The cars make their passerby
Their speed producing a dash of wind
That billowed in the air awry
A soothing breeze meets the skin

Afar from glimpse
The helixes of devil's wisps
Devastating crops within fields
Fading upon woodland shields

My mind wandering astray
Yet now coming back without haze
The eyes swooned from restless daze
Staring at the slate of asphalt that day

Zeal
In this place I roam
How could I truly be,
So far and free
Yet feel so close to home?

Where have I gone?
My soul touched by wonder,
I’ve found a part of myself
In this realm of ardor.

Lifted to the sky
Is destiny responsible?
Below us, clouds lie
Have we discovered the impossible?

Life could last forever here
So please take my hand,
Rest your heart from fear
In this beautifully enchanted land.

In this place I roam
How could I truly be,
So far and free
Yet feel so close to home?
This poem is largely inspired by the song "Corridors of Time" from the popular JRPG Chrono Trigger.

Iris
You were the iris in my garden
As luminous as the Sun could be
Rays of affection forevermore
Came from you so pleasantly

You were the iris in the sky
Morning emblazon; twilight plume
An ethereal radiance of love
This in my heart I hold with truth

Cascade of stars
Encircling divinity
An endlessly shimmering nebula
Shaping the essence of empathy

Yes you are the iris in my own
Reflecting wonder and glee
A blooming presence of hope
That has made life so beautiful to me

A famous soothsayer of our time
Once took me by surprise
Told me beware of this true demise:

Apathy, is the worst of crime.

So I asked him a bit impatiently:
"What's the big deal? Who are you supposed to be?"
To which he responded rather gently:
"The oasis of your soul you see."

Then he told me this crazy story
Of a lass and her voice so deafening
Now the neighbors knew the shouting
Yet they didn't care much for sweet ole' Kitty

       "Oh
Help me,  My God! He stabbed
        Me!"

From her wounds
She did bleed
A disgruntled fellow yells:
"Leave her be!"

So the awful **** Mosley
Does indeed stumble and flee
Yet this putrid man, so sickly
Was ambitious like the bumble bee

So return he did for his pollen
And sweet nectar to teem
Poor little Kitty has fallen
Intervention was too far and between

So maybe you understand the tale?
A horrid display of humane efficacy
The Monster reaps on skin so pale
While the Hero sits and watches TV
This poem is in reference to the ****** of Kitty Genovese.

Bon Appétit
Brooding demonic intention
Ruthless self induced depression
Dead end future; pride resistant
Hint of haughty hesitation

Creation bringing distrust
Cacophony chaotically combusts
Pessimistic tendencies entrusted
Slice of seasonal self-destruction

Bring, me the only solace
Aptitude toward my succession
Captivate this eternal malice
Justify my intent, avert me from all regression

Service sufficient methods
Relentless reverting measures
Alternating accented anguishes
Place accordingly, utilize all innovation

A dish,
Masterpiece
Promising prepared direction
Combinations carefully constituted;

Platter of pleasing perfection.

Blossom
I shall not take a drop for granted
Of spring and summer rain.
Fertile trickling; the dirt exacted
Seep unto my veins.

Sweet hydration upon my soul
Marry minerals and life therein.
Remove the bane of fauna’s toll
Look to flora’s withered skin.

Seep unto my veins
Humble, aqueous divine.
Wash away disdain;
Birth me from decline.

I know not where the sun has fled,
Nor when it shall appear again.
I do not fear the wintry dread,
Blocking light from the ground I wed.

So seep unto my veins−
Dearest,
Sweet friend.

This salve runs deep
From my roots,
So steep−
I will bloom again.
This poem is inspired by the Theodore Roethke quote: “Deep in their roots, all flowers keep their light.”
