as they strain for gems in a prospector's pan.

trudging the ruts I've created time and again.

Looking forward to you is like a child with exact change, waiting for the ice cream truck in the summer.

The cold seeps through the night

As droplets of rain slide down the window

The darkness wraps us in its cool cocoon
