creak and crash
a hundred yards from my bunk
dumb metal falls
following its unsupervised trajectory

i have a helmet i do not wear
they always fall while i'm sleeping
INCOMING
INCOMING
INCOMING
taking the place of being
gently woken by my dog's cold nose
on my neck
You haunted us as you were haunted
Spectres spreading from your head
To your heart
To your hands
To the souls of your daughters and son.
You were haunted
Hunted
Hounded by demons of your own creation
Reality slipping,  spiraling slowly
Out and away
Grasping at lucidity
Groping for clarity
Desperate for breath in the growing vacuum
Of your world.

We spread your ashes at Brandy Creek
Three generations went into the woods
And two came back.
We took you to the waterfall
Poured you like milk
Spreading cloudy white into the earth
We took you to the dogwood
On the creek bed
In the shelter of a wise and fallen oak
Covered you like a sleeping baby with leaves
We took you to the stump by the rock
Overlooking the creek
Spread you like wishes in its gut
And prayed for new life from your remains.
We exorcised you in Whiskeytown
Spread your head and heart and hands
And broke you free of the bounty on your soul.
legends in our flesh
we are our scars
ancient mythology in constellations
can you read my fate
in my banged up knuckles
unlock my secrets
oracle of wounds
my dog lies on the concrete patio
pink belly up
the fresh alabama sun cooking the air
draped solid over us like a wet blanket.

he is not part of my reality
he cares not for tardiness
or three-day-leg-stubble
or cleaning the lint trap.

i ache to be a part of his
pink belly up
only stirring to watch the children
play across the street.
I've been driving all night
With the headlights turned off
And I've got no sight of the road I'm on
I'm not trying to be edgy
I just wanna see what it feels like to walk straight into danger
I don't wanna die
I really don't
I just wanna know if pain tastes differently
If it isn't coming from inside of me
This is the highland spring
Let us in the mountains sing
As a deep Scottish blues
Glides and glues
Dispelling scattered fears
seeking to keep us weak
There is no need to seek
Let all Scottish clans
All join their hands
Claiming all  their lands
Thrown away by old elite
Such history
If we could only delete

As we honor the gallant
Men with freedom
Boiling and brimming
In their limitless hearts
Greater  , than any  life
As they spill over their freedom
As  Scotland here  baths
In their unforgettable souls
As they still  resonate
In the trickles of
Scottish streams
So let us all hear
As silent mountains nestle
In deep blue skies
As they merrily enchant

Let all nations slip away
From tricky triangle
And clumsy squares
Where dishonest intention
Live on elevated corners
As we carry them on our back
While in their deeds they feed
The beast of paranoia
Slitting love affairs like wood
I wish this was understood
As their sharp corners
break straight lines
Where intimacies once lived
And smash large circles
Like breaking glasses

But let us live in precious circles
Where all nations float freely
Like lilies in a pond
This is the last poem i am going to write about Scottish independence ,I really  did not flow at all when writing but I decided to  persisted anyway . The reason being  mainly the third verse which hopefully explains why I would be pro Europe and pro independence . It  all can be applied to any personal relating experiences , interested if it is clear enough and any other thoughts.

Dry eyes
Pink balloons
Satin sheets
Nothing is related to the other.
Nothing makes sense.
A thousand words are written
A million songs are sung.
The days are slowly churning, tic toc
Here comes another one.
Hello was for a moment
Goodbye will last forever
Yet inside this spec of time
Your face I still remember.
The way your auburn hair would fall
When you just arose from bed
Or how your smile lit the room
We had so many years ahead.
Staring down upon this stone
As the sunshine warms the day
I relive every moment
All the silly games we played.
Inside I'm numb to everything
I can't help but wonder why
We didn't get to live our life
Or why you had to die.
Teary eyes
Blue roses
Teacups
Nothing is related to the other
Nothing makes sense.....

The three birds,
Watch them fly away.
From the pages of the books,
Which almost lead them astray.

The Three Birds,
Soar through the sky.
Only to arrive,
In the blink of an eye.

The Three Birds,
Now circle around a girl..
They swoop down quickly,
Then unfurl.

The Three Birds,
Now rest upon her collar.
Resembling the girl's,
Brother, Mother and Father.
