You give new breath to the word lust.
Max Alvarez Jul 2014
I grab a stick of nicotine
Light the end
And
Feel the smoke brush my teeth.
"Max, the unlovable"
I've come to know
The agony that befalls
The last leaf that winter dawns.
Alone.

My eyes flutter
Close
Words fall from my lips in a stutter
Prose

I loosely turn my tangled neck
Sixty degrees
To my mangled wreck

I am alone.

A distant shrill of
Grinding gears
Sends chills throughout
The twentieth century's
Siren song.

The suited men
With crooked smirks
File in line to be
The first to eat
From concrete ****.

They tear
And they tear
And they tear
Clawing at nature's green
Humming as droning bees
Waking birds from their falling trees
They will be the first to eat.

Stripped lies mother earth
In a ****** heap
The end will be digitized

I've begun to blink
My vision falling into place
I've begun to think
These vultures defiled ancient peace

How can I?
How can they?
How can we?

My newly
Formed
Vision
Walks in
The sight
The plane of life
Betrayed by
It's own creation.

Humans are the plague.

"Read me a piece of literature before off to bed"
Spake the owl
"Hum-drum" quothed the severed head
Displeased the owl pecked
On the twelve maggots dancing
Amidst the rotting flesh
Wrily the head wiggled a naughty smile
"The worms turn after a little while"
And with that, the owl stopped
And to the ground he fell in a lifeless flop

As I lay in this darkened house
At the end of a snaking hall
I count
And recount
The times my heart was
Charred
And scarred
Tossed
And left to rot
By the most beautiful fall
Her name akin
All I needed was the closest friend

To whom shall I belong?

She can have it all
My gentle hands
Or a firm grasp
A poor beard
Or a close shave
Needed space
Or a warm embrace
And on her lowest days
I'd wipe the tears from her face

I'd be the man you've read about
The man you've dreamt about
I'd pluck the stars
And the moon draw nigh
Just to see you smile

Often I entertain
The thought
That
I wasn't meant To find
She who
Finds a way
To calm the violent waves
That plague my mind

Walk up the staircase to the morbid decay
Flickering static on the tv set frays
Moses drowning in an unparted sea
What lies above or beneath is not for me to say
