Drowning (Lyrics)
Water’s getting deeper
But I can’t seem to stay afloat
And I just keep dragging myself down
Cause I don’t want the ocean
I don’t want the ocean to keep her

[Chorus]
If I could save you I would
Even if I drown beneath the waves
Now if I could save you I should
But right now I’m the one that needs to be
Saved

We’re both drifting endlessly
We’ll go wherever the water takes us
And I don’t know if I’ve lost my way
And now you’re gone
And I don’t know what to say
But…

[Chorus]

I’m the one that needs to be saved x3
Now no matter where we go
I’m the one that needs to be saved
Wherever the water will flow
I’m the one that needs to be saved

I’m drowning, I’m helpless
But there’s no time to be scared
I’m drowning, I’m helpless
You’re the only one that’s ever cared
I’m drowning, I’m helpless
Still searching the ocean for you
You’re drowning, you’re helpless
And someday the world will be too
I had to write a song to go with a scene from of moviefor one of my english classes, so i wrote this.

Tonight I am sitting around the fire that I lit
by burning all those poems I wrote for you.
And I swear it looks so beautiful as the flames
touch the stars just like I thought
my words would touch your heart.

His Jacket

Molly
He gave me his
jacket
and it smelled like
him and smoke
and I knew why
but I wore it anyway.

The day he
disappeared
it was cold outside so
I wore his jacket
and
wiped my nose on the sleeves.

We got the call from the
psych ward
three days later and I couldn't
see him
or
hold him
so I buried my face in his jacket
even though it smelled like smoke
and I knew why.

I kept it
stuffed in the corner between
the wall and my bed
so on the nights when I
missed him too much to sleep
I could wrap myself in it
even though
it didn't smell like him anymore.

When he came back
a month later
and I saw him in
a crowded hallway
he looked at me and
smiled
when he noticed I was wearing
his jacket
and he
hugged me
so it smelled like him again.

I still
wear his jacket
when I can't sleep at night.

blondes, brunettes and redheads,
the goodbye colors of the
street's tree choir members
and their leafy gowned denizens,

the good stiff chill upon them,
the selfsame chill
in my anguished mind
now hiding,
sing a comfort food song
heard above the quiet terror of the
noises of a fall winters-wind precursor

"once we green,
once we were renewal,
life everlasting emblems
once,
you were wee,
green uncaring and free,
presuming that you too,
were in possession of
life everlasting

your colors have changed as well,
endless is the process,
only slower than
a tree's scheduled maintenance,
moreover,
returning you to your first
crayon drawing youth
unlike us, an impossibility

we will turn young again
for many seasons more,
you
never will

new eyes will feast upon our
glories refreshed and love our
cast shade cast

yet special are you the man,
poet who was chosen
to see and tell,
witness to our resurrection,
during our overlapping,
parallel continuum in time

when to the shade of hades
you physic sent,
our limbs, our leaves,
our perennial lives,
for-as-long-as-they-shall-last,
will cover thy remains and
give your poems back to the
sultry summer breeze from
whence they came
and the colors
of your words
will be the colors
of a free life everlasting"

Falls with the radiance of jewels
Upon the eyes
The satin of sparks
And I worship with **** breathing
A soft devotion like this can distance the heart
But one’s beauty is one’s happiness and excitement
An excitement competing with the world
A world where few things dazzle us
And inspire us to push our appetites into
The velvet arms of dawn
