I sit
and 'time' waits with me

   It's always by my side
     it's not a comfort however

       together we stare
         at each other
      'Time' waiting for me
      and I .......

I'm just waiting for the right 'time'

goodnight
old girl
goodnight, to you,
you
quiet house,
you
blessed home.

are you glad to see
another day done?
within yourself, your hidden recessed places,

are you sighing in relief  as we settle safe in our beds.

your present loves,
all accounted for,
sleeping within your
teak and nail embrace.
or do you prefer,

the drumming of our feet, the hum of activity,
of when we are awake,
and bustling and bumping, about your frame?

or is it best,
when we leave you,
silent and alone
to contemplate,
in the sun and wind
on a work day?

my lord, the secrets
you must keep, the lifes,
that you have held close behind these old walls.

you must groan and cry,
with the weight of some memories,
yet, others cause
you to smile and sigh
in near-miss relief.

you have stood strong
and sturdy, for almost
one hundred years,
in one form or another,
your girth has expanded, with the growth of family, from farmer's cottage,
to three bed, with study
and nannexe, out the back. you have been all but knocked down, rebuilt, reworked and restored,
to former glory.

you have withstood,
the element's rage
and time's insipid attempts, to shift you,
from your place,
upon the cliffshead.
you have, and do,
do well, to hold us
all within.

and now, just,
before i sleep,
i want to thank you
old girl, for the way,
you keep us, warm,
protected and together.
glad to be back in the old  homestead.... even as she cracks and creaks, complaining about the cold

The Sun in Sudan is unkind.
There beauty withers into dust.
The people there are primitive,
Their ways are alien to us.

A Christian woman, eight months pregnant,
Has been condemned to lash and rope.
convicted by Sharia law.
Our outrage is her earthly hope.

For Meriam refused to yield,
In Jesus she maintains her trust.
She would not convert by force
To a cult that seeks control of us.

A modern day Antigone,
condemned to death because of faith.
A prisoner of Conscience, she,
Like the Lamb, endures their hate.

She is not clothed as with the Sun.
The child she bears, no Savior King.
She’s labelled an adulteress
though she wears her husband’s ring.

Her faith provides no easy path,
that often is the way of things.
Like all those Martyrs who came before her,
She puts her trust in Christ the King.
Meriam Ibrahim, A Christian wife and mother in Sudan, has been condemned to 100 lashes and then death because she does not follow the religion of “peace” professed by her biological father, the man who abandoned her and her mother when she was just six years old. Meriam was raised as a Christian and is prepared to die as a martyr for the Faith.
Like the sandgrains on the stretched palm
with the wind have flown the years
the tides rolled back the sea is now calm
It's biding time on this heavenly sphere!

Yet I've started loving this life more
more than all that spent up before
with a growing desire to have it fullest
sowing hope's seeds to reap its harvest!

Inevitable frailness though makes it hard
more than the yore I dream step forward
still seek the way to get through the dark
explore the mist on unknown embark!

I stretch my hands for the farthest shore
roam mind's cavern for still unlocked door
churn up the residues of time on this side
ride on the comeback of sea's one last tide!

Sorrow is a lonesome river,
she feeds a deep blue sea.
She'll take all the tears you give her;
open the gates and set her free.

When it rains in Georgia,
it's flooding sacred ground.
From Augusta to Savannah,
that's holy water coming down.

Lift your chin up off your chest,
raise your eyes up to the sky.
The flood has reached its crest,
let the warm sun sanctify.

Sorrow is a lonesome river,
she feeds a deep blue sea.
She'll take all the tears you give her;
open the gates and set her free.

Did you see
how the sky was always changing?
Did you feel life's beauty, blissful innocence rearranging?

turning into days, days, days
void of blue, void of sun
how the rains swell the veins, in ways
one can no longer ignore
life blood barely breathing
a child screaming
to be heard

Do you feel how fear stole away
your purity of heart, your breath, your life,
your words?

With love, fearlessly reclaim
your truth, your voice, your heart

What is that? Who is that?

now is the unraveling
now is the untwisting
now is the time
