It's just another day in News Speak Nation

Our country tis' of thee
sweet land of the liberty
of thee I sing

It's a News Speak Nation while CNN drones on
they just want you to sing along.

Now the people wonder where we went wrong.

Land where my fathers died
land of the Pilgrims pride

It feels like one big dream
why don't you sing with me?

From ev'ry mountainside
Let freedom ring

While the news keeps blasting on
how we don't get along
the wars keep marching on
It's a News Speak Nation
spreading fear, n' damnation
when every one of us can say
our ancestors made their way
through stormy sea's
to kiss the ground, and pray.
Don't believe what the politicians say
they just want to have their way.
Buying votes as they crack their jokes
playing games with our votes.

Our fathers' God to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing.

While the gap of the rich and poor
widens deep
the middle class can't compete.

I see the man who sleeps under the bridge,
he sings my song,  doesn't subscribe to your point of view,
lives between the gaps,  in places you've never seen,
he doesn't see the flag you wave,
nor cares to carry the message it bears
he see's the powers that be watching you fall,
marching to the beat of the new democracy,
freedom from the back of your privilege class,
while we all walk on the broken glass,
he hears the birds sing of a call to arms,
high in the tree's beyond your ivory towers,
through his tears we see it's time for a change,
as the wind blows through your corridors of power,
I'll search for the man who sleeps under the bridge.

I had a vision of a globe spinning once upon a time
And, I heard a song playing with these words
this is how it rhymed,
China joined Russia while Peru fell off the map
Yes, while the United States had been sleeping
our President had gone out, or had been taking a very long nap
Australia went South, while Florida went North
the world was changing so fast, and a prophecy was set forth
I can't explain this vision, I cannot know that right now
the world was changing so fast, and I couldn't figure out how
All I know is the United States had been sleeping
that's all I know for sure right now.

Twin city upon the moon
can I come up to see you
sometime soon?
Are the stars your lights
And is it bright?
I want to catch
a one way flight
I'll leave tonight
Is there anyone
that looks like me?
I'd love to see
what I'm supposed to be
from up there...
what should I be?

Beware of the kindness of strangers
it may be a minute too late
Ah, you have a light bulb moment
just a minute too late
that they were just users
and, lions in wait
when you find out the danger
of trusting others
who desire your favors
Ah, just a minute too late
justifying all of their hate
strangers disguised as angels
living as devils, and spreading their lies
you wish right now you'd looked into their eyes
Ah, your light bulb moment
all because...
* it was a minute too late.

Walk your land...
   Eyes to sky
      Azure beauty
         Clouds etheric bright
Rock ashen black
  Trees of umber
    n' greens of grass
      Fresh and alive
Lay on earth
  Smell deep
    the essence
       moist or parched
Walk your land...
     Walk your land...
        Find your
          Home once again
