Autumn is just around the corner
quite a lot of rain
Some flowers starting to die back
Birds seem quieter now
The breeding season is over

From now to the end of November
a list as long as your arm
of hospitals and doctors
and now I must keep calm

I,m  a TV  set  you  see  tuned  in  to  BBC.
Sometimes  they  like  the­  soaps.
ITV  gives  me  the  goat.
They  stand  and  curse  and ­ swear.
Ten  oclock  news  is  somewhere  there.
Im  left  in  a ­ corner  all  alone.
Till  the  family  come  back  home.
Then  t­hey  stand  and  fight.
I  was  much  better  off  when  Black  a­nd  White.

Trees  have  been  with  us
right  through  time.
Giving  us  shade,  shelter,
and  privacy.

Their  wood  builds  houses
and  boats.
They  are  the  air  cleaners,
  rain  bringers,  and  prevent  erosion.

We  must  speak  out
and  replace  trees.
Damage  as  already
been  done  to  our  soil.

Please  plant  a  tree
and  save  the  world.

0rrest  Head  a  majestic  hill.
Covered  with  a  regiment  of  trees.
Whispering  in  the  summer  breeze.
A  golden  retreat.

View  from  the  top,  breathtaking.
Lake  Windermere  lying  calm  and  serene.
Mountains  beyond  standing  tall.
Basking  in  sun  and  shade.
Quite  a  wonderful  place.

Birds  come  on  our  lawn.
To  eat  peanuts  that  we  hang.

They  wait  in  trees  for  food  to  come.
When  It's  there  they  swoop  right  down.

Cold  weather  is  a  problem.
With  very  little  to  eat.

But  the  birds  are  very  hardy.
Standing  out  in  cold  and  sleet.

  What  would  we  do  without  our  birds.
No  songs  at  early  morn.

I  thank  the  lord  that  we.

I met a man
with a bike
but he seemed to want
to hike
The road too dangerous to ride
the bike stayed by his side
The very sociable man
couldn't carry on with his plan

Went  a  walk  in  the  park  today.
The  grass  was  glistening  white
with  the  hard  frost.
Two  hardy  souls  were  having
lunch  on  a  bench.
Some  children  playing  livened
up  the  proceedings.
It  was  very  cold.
The  only  view  was  the  brooding
mountains  in  the  far  distance.
I  didn't  stay  long.

Satellites fly high  in the sky
and so do we

I was walking leisurely
one fine day
I found a shortcut
on the way
but it wasn't to be
I landed up under a tree
grazed my arm
and my knee
The root of the tree
I didn't see

A young lass lifted me
up from the grass
She was half my age
so I didn't mind
the fall
Shaking, she took me
home for tea
All because of the root
that I couldn't see

Lovely  double  rainbow  today.
One  reflecting  to  cause.

a normal English summer
after the scorching
temperatures of late
Much more bearable!

Faithful  kind  and  true.
Cherish  her  with  all  your  heart.
Your  guiding  light  right  from  the  start.
She,s  there  for  you  in  good  or  bad.
She  picks  you  up  when  you  are  sad.
She  gives  you  lots  of  loving  care
To  help  you  as  you  grow.
A  loving  word  a  tender  smile.

One thing about snow
Everyone's garden looks
clean and tidy

I read in the paper
about this animal
imitating
walking
into purple flames
in a movie

Now it's hibernating time
which is fine
I'm so tired I could sleep
on my feet
standing up
like Maggie's happy horse

..Her  bravery  was unsurpassed.
She  was  example  to  us  all.

Welcome to Tara and Bernie
my pair of German Shepherd puppies

They are brother and sister
which is quite nice

They are rather large puppies
for eighteen months old

Bernie is 'laid-back', nothing bothers him
He has paws like a tiger

Tara is always in trouble, into everything
She chewed Bernie's bed, poor lad had nowhere to sleep

Sometimes they are a couple of witches
but I wouldn't be without them

I love them to bits

I  walk  slowly  down  the  winding  path
of  my  lovely  summer  garden.

I  admire  the  blushing  roses
kissed  by  the  overnight  rain.

The  air  is  warmed
by  the  bright-faced  sun.

Many  bright  fragrant  blossoms
bloom  beneath  the  orchard  wall.

The  sun  flickers  through  the  fruit  trees
making  pretty  patterns  on  the  mown  grass.

I  then  sit  quietly
where  the  sun  burns  you  a  deep  brown.

Yes,  summer  is  wonderful
but  alas  it's  soon  gone.

There's a large Canadian
Redwood tree
near our garden
The foliage down one side
has turned brown
They say it was caused
by 'The Beast from the East'
a storm we had
earlier in the year
Maybe it will pick up
in the winter

A massive large hare
came into the garden
this morning

She now walks the dog alone
All the way back to her home

She used to walk for miles with him
Until he died

Now lonely and alone
She walks the dog back to her home

A large sycamore
stands tall
like a guardsman
on parade

Spring is on its way
Be blessed for another day

I walked the garden long in late evening
The sun was casting shadows on the rooftops
The garden sparkled from the raindrops after overnight rain
Everything feeling quite peaceful

It's a nice January morning
after the overnight hard frost

It's true I think of most men
having life a dream

It's true the life of many men
seems to be a dream

It's true to say few find it
no matter how they scheme

don't aim too high to start with
but keep the dream in sight

Start low and work up to it
a satisfying fight

Easter  is  dead  and  gone  once  again.
The  pace  eggs  have  been  rolled.
And  a  lot  eaten,  I  suspect.
The  Easter  bunnies  are  back  
In  there  hutches.
The  weather  has  been  poor,
dull  and  wet.
But  all  passed  peacefully.

BT telephoned
six times at home
to sell me
a mobile phone

They wore me down
and then they charged
fourteen pounds
forevermore

Now I've put it
back in the box
I'll send it as a gift
Pre postage paid
and even weighed
BT will pay for it

In the early morning
sitting on our bench
a tiny willow warbler
comes around
very tame
hunting for food

The sun has gone now
Perhaps the weather
is going to change

Dark days, it’s never light
I have the lights on all day
Night is starting to close in at four pm
At least it’s a quiet time of year
Nothing is stirring
Typical November
No sun, no moon, no stars

Autumn  leaves  bade  farewell
To  the  trees  they  have  adorned  so  well.

The  proud  trees  stood  with  all  their  colors
Now  all  hopes  dashed  by  autumn  weather.

The  leaves  now  blow  about  in  piles
Telling  us  that  winter's  nigh.

They'll  come  again  another  spring
New  hope  to  all  of  us  will  bring.

It's  the  same  in  human  life  you  see
New  babies  to  replace  you  and  me.

Nothing  or  nobody  lasts  forever
It  has  to  be  replaced.

My cat was killed two years ago
How it came about I'll never know

It was a dark and stormy night
I should never have let her out of sight

She must have seen the door ajar
And crept out to wander far

A speeding car was deemed her fate
The wind played tricks, she left it late

I miss her purr and friendly bite
Her life was taken in the stormy night

I  have  been  thinking  .recently.
About  a  long  lost  Uncle.

I  was  only  a  small  boy.
When  he  was  setting  off  for  work

He  would  always  say.
Aw  well  another  round  of.
savage  amusement.

It  seems  to  have  stayed  with  me.

I  was  only  with  you  for  one  short  week.
We  met  up on  the  plane.

We  were  off  to  Turkey
To  see  the  battlefields.

You  were  a  lovely  lady
And  we  were  together  all  week.

I  often  think  of  you  now
Although  we  were  together  for  such  a  short  time.

When  we  arrived  home  at  the  airport
You  melted  away  into  the  crowd.

And  I  never  saw  you  again.

I often wonder
how many
different shades of green
there are

Very pale green
right through
to a very dark green
Pale green in the large trees
like the oak
to a much darker green
in the hedgerows

It could be
different sunlight
or shade

Woke  early  this  morning, to  early.
The  rain  thundering  down  outside.
Water  gushing  down  drains  at  some  speed.
Neighbors  still  in  bed.
Just  hope  the  floods  keep  away.
