Spring

Grass, beauty, Easter and art;
the kind of grey skies that don't hurt your heart,
the kind of rain that signals a new start -
Spring is allowing your soul and your darkness to part.

Remembering childhood memories you didn't know you forgot,
Pastel coloured sweets that will make your teeth rot,
Lovers going at it like bunnies without fear of getting caught,
Spring is bringing clarity and serenity to your thoughts.

Windows that crack open just enough to leak fresh air,
with lilac blossom candles leaving a light scent that's barely there
and there's something about the way you started wearing your hair...
Spring is finally replenishing what winter left bare.
Having a really lovely day!
I haven't felt this happy in a while, and I really hope that means that things are starting to look up for me.
I hope Spring brings something new to all of you, too.

I hadn't thought about you in such a long time, but today
I saw your name, staring me in the face at the grocery store, cool and suave and confident the way I remember it, I saw you,
standing next to me, staring at the stars, making one of your overused comments about the moon in my hair or the stardust in my eyes, I picked delicate pink flowers from the bush by the science lab, you put them in your pocket, took the picture to memory when your phone camera failed to find me in the dark that night we had to sneak past the library so they wouldn't know
so many things I didn't like about you were thrown into the shadow by your witty personality and adoration of my mind
I called you one night to tell you my mind had changed when it came to the idea of you and I
I could hear you breaking on the other end, that's when something inside of me cracked, but didn't break, not completely, not really
it ended so quickly, left me in a stupor of guilt and regret
I saw you not long after, I wanted to run from you or thank you for saving my life or ignore you completely or hug you the way I used to
but I just kept driving
and that was that
until today when I saw your name, staring me in the face at the grocery store and I wanted to sulk inside or scream at myself or smile in memory or cry at how far apart we've drifted
but I just kept shopping
no longer electric
it's been three years,
and I'm okay with that.

I was going to write about you again
Then I remembered you already left
and no longer care about me

I shouldn't look back at the past
For it has nothing good in store for me
Yet I seem to be reminiscing all our memories
But I should be over that cause they'll fade throughout time

This feeling, telling me write one more
and after that no more
It's really not for you though
Mostly for me, to pour out my pain
That I've been keeping all this time

But after everything
I want you to know
I still think you're as glowing as a star
beautiful as a sunset
Your smile still shines bright like the sun
somehow you still give me butterflies
And you're lovely as the ocean shore

I wanted to give it to you all
Just to see those gleam in your eyes
Just to give you the happiness
Because your eyes didn't touch the smile on your face
And I hoped for so bad to make you happy

But it wasn't enough
Here's a true fact though
I hope you're truly happy
But if I could
And had another chance
I would give you the moon
and the whole **** galaxy
Even if you wanted to share it with her instead of me

Philip Larkin
In frames as large as rooms that face all ways
And block the ends of streets with giant loaves,
Screen graves with custard, cover slums with praise
Of motor-oil and cuts of salmon, shine
Perpetually these sharply-pictured groves
Of how life should be. High above the gutter
A silver knife sinks into golden butter,
A glass of milk stands in a meadow, and
Well-balanced families, in fine
Midsummer weather, owe their smiles, their cars,
Even their youth, to that small cube each hand
Stretches towards. These, and the deep armchairs
Aligned to cups at bedtime, radiant bars
(Gas or electric), quarter-profile cats
By slippers on warm mats,
Reflect none of the rained-on streets and squares

They dominate outdoors. Rather, they rise
Serenely to proclaim pure crust, pure foam,
Pure coldness to our live imperfect eyes
That stare beyond this world, where nothing's made
As new or washed quite clean, seeking the home
All such inhabit. There, dark raftered pubs
Are filled with white-clothed ones from tennis-clubs,
And the boy puking his heart out in the Gents
Just missed them, as the pensioner paid
A halfpenny more for Granny Graveclothes' Tea
To taste old age, and dying smokers sense
Walking towards them through some dappled park
As if on water that unfocused she
No match lit up, nor drag ever brought near,
Who now stands newly clear,
Smiling, and recognising, and going dark.

I hate sleeping without your body,
                       let alone your words.
don't go to bed without a goodnight.

You can breathe tonight.
Let no effort bring itself to your tired bones.
I will hold you, until the end,
and no demons will break through to
your porcelain soul.

Let sleep wrap you in its wings.
Dance with me in the stars.
Tonight you are alive,
and you will be tomorrow, too,
and that is glorious,
because this cramped universe
is pure emptiness without you.

Let it be noted, that,
I am one who seldom seeks the presence of another being.
Fortunately,
you are no other being
(I believe you are a part of me).

Tomorrow, you will live on,
and I might not,
and that's alright,
but,
let it be noted, that,
you can still breathe.
More rambling than anything, but... I digress.
