He asked, I said yes!
Oh, what joy!
Mama, I knew he was the right boy!
It's going to be work,
all marriages are
I know patience and love can go far

I'll take him with his flaws, his baggage, and quirks
Maybe even do the dishes when he's at work
I won't complain about the socks on the floor,
or shavings in the sink
I won't nag him when he comes home and he's too tired to think

As long as I have my cup of tea and a kiss
As long as I have my paper and computer to write
As long as I have my paintbrushes
Forever with him is not long enough of time
June 23rd, 2019- To be Mrs. Armbruster.
This poem reflects on the reality of relationships that it's okay to get back to doing what you love and admiring your own time alone so you can enjoy time spent together more

Spring blossoms hold beauty
but green leaves hold a tree's life
So don't seek for only beauty
when seeking a wife

You get so mad
when I'm half in my head,
mostly because I write,
what I really should've said.

her foot never fully touched the ground,
remaining half afloat in the air--
stuck in the clouded mist of her anxious mind,
she could not grasp the full weight of reality

her dance too tentative to be considered one of grace,
she treaded carefully with each step, although,
she knew this all with a great familiarity--

a constant state of limbo and disarray,
out of touch with sight and mind,
thoughtless rumination
all gather to combine into this displacement

she leaps with hope and faith,
but unable to press her foot along the earth
she glides over the dust and ruin,
seeking to avoid rather than settle-- she survives without living
anxiety living avoiding trouble past

I see beyond the darkness
that lays behind your hazel eyes.
It's not something
you can hide,
like summer storms,
and sad goodbyes.
It's there all the time.
It lights up
the midnight sky,
and strikes like lightening
with a deafening cry.

Pieces of you writher away,
Ache and Anguish is all you can feel,
Interested in how to cure what you felt
No one could heal

A simple excuse is what most need and they think
that justice is a synonym for revenge. They claim
that all they do is natural and not an act of distress.
So how can i quite this part of me that at any tipping
point someone will linch and act uncontrollably
achieving only to hurt those he or she loves.
I fear that most can not bear to lose any more and they
would give into a comfort zone, into zestless and
voiceless acts only leading to their ruin.
The world is a harsh place and there are those who
would see others suffer for their own gain, even
flay those who would try to help them.
Difficult to be stronger than our excuses but what is
worse from losing ourselves.

Sitting by a Lake

So this is the life I'm coming to know,
Witnessing new beauty,
Only to be haunted by my ghosts
Old memories of friends
Remind me of the strangers from today
And here I am, alone, sitting near a lake
My friends and former lovers have moved on, and I will too
But I'm still haunted by these ghosts
From this glorious view

Gentle dusting across the earth,
singular stars are getting their birth.
Each unique with every flake,
instellar galaxies all at stake.

Falling from the heavens,
This is the day the angels come out to play.
A fresh new start, pure and clean
it can be so freeing.
Silence, peace, and beauty galore
so much new old area to explore.
Crystals of fragile flakes surpass, our minds and endeavors all at last.
Until we find we are alone with the universe
finding ourselves, with every verse.
Cold running through our veins,
complexing our hearts, leaving us full of stains from the endless mutiny of our wondering brains.
