Fit
Bars across the world
Full of lonely people
Holding them in
Shouldn't let them out
Not fit to fiddle
Guitar strung out
Beat to death
There might be a window to a street
But they don't see it
What's the point
Alone in here
Alone out there
Failure tastes the same
Piano keys have them locked
The squint-eyed singer is pouring his heart out
He doesn't need it so he fills their cups
Lips dance with the microphone
His voice sears
Lonely ears
The wet curb outside
Might serve a better pillow
Than the soft one at home
That reeks of memories
And is damp with tears
Bars keep them in
Right where they should be
Cheers

responsive wordplay resizes
double entendre to single line
call blocked the writers
got more out by dialing 9

touch screens to text readers
read text and seem touched
the ringing in your ears
was from a cellular punch

I plan to limit my data
but I always over share
mastering dastardly dactyls
pushes my meter to bare

if you only think 1x
you might struggle to get the picture
take a 4G dose to flex
your brain with crack and fissures

lithium ironic that my low battery
turns hyperbole to hypo
I got you charged with flattery
alas, you're not my typo
I got carried away with my excitement about being able to create poems on the go with my cellphone

I tried fixing you
Instead the universe broke me
Showing me there are many roads
To balance
I thought you needed repair
Turns out my bleeding despair
Clots better
Knowing our plenty wounds are shared

I should rejoice
In the equilibrium
Yet a part of me still burns
At the path you’ve been set upon
Knowing your strength in darkness,
Guessing your brilliance in the light

Lay crushed under the weight of the sun
Like a hot, heavy boulder squishing me in the chair
I breathe carelessly
as if lungs will always expand

despair not
put
what words in the air
most resemble hammers smashing aloud the renderable vulnerable tender
massacre bloodily what would keep you broken forgetting your imprisoners gladly swiftly
more oft than not the misdirected hurt is their own hammers
not sounding like the scary stuff courage is made of

I could kiss you always
#trust
I could enjoy this buzz through my skin
For eternity
I pretend it's a gravity field that keeps you
#science
It's certainly not the sun that
Rises and falls
Couldn't keep a rhythm with my heart
#worthless

patient lads await good things
so few are left in this world
for:
warming
easing
healing

they think us blood and therefore cuts are wounds but

we are hurts that only your eyes can heal
we are deaths your hands reverse
your words are bandages loosely wrapped
yet reassuring

we must wait wait for the sun again
it brings gifts of
warming
easing

healing
