These wandering patrons
Lie asleep all day
With the stillness of night
Clouding their heads

It’s a sunset with no sun
In the sea it’s dead
Been like this for years now
We elect to forget

It’s not about the materialistic things
The houses and cars are someone else’s dream
I want a home that’s filled with love
A place my children can bring their friends
A special someone to share it with
Who appreciates all that I have to give.
Who wants to work together as one
And shares the dreams that build our love
I need a rock, who is there for me
And accepts my quirks above all things
Who will go do things just for fun
Perhaps, geocache, a musical, or family time
I want to laugh more than cry
To fall asleep at night being held tight
And wake to realize it wasn’t just a dream.

I could never fathom
How people made constellations
Out of stars.
But you called me beautiful
And it was almost
The same thing.

Larry Potter
He took the stage for a one-man show
A character of a hundred roles
Too many a script but he sure knows
To take a bow when the curtain falls.

A storyteller extraordinaire
In his endless soliloquy
Over a thousand and one affairs
Of all his quixotic reverie.

Two hands he proudly speaks at best
Which work like that of twenty men
From different realms of Sciences
Philosophy and Arts he studied them.

But what wound could cut so deep
That he can fool everyone but himself?
Before he drowns his sorrow to sleep
He hides his monsters behind the shelf.

He took his mask and off a smile
That he wore to get himself a crowd
And asked the mirror for quite a while
Did all the theatrics make him proud?

He was the Jack of all trades
Certainly not an expert in one
And his own game of charades
Made him a master of none.

hello, I miss you
the stars screamed at me not to let you drive away
and I should have said something
anything
worth you being here
because I never knew "goodnight"
could be a synonym for goodbye
and I am not ready to be alone once more

hello, I miss you
do you miss me?
you told me you did once after you pulled over to the side of the road 20 miles away from my house claiming that you couldn't drive any farther until I knew
you never turned around though
I wasn't worth enough
it wasn't until later that I figured out that could be the only thing I have left to hold onto

hello, I miss you
since you are gone I have no best friend besides my reflection
and even she does not want to talk
sometimes
we both have sad eyes and no one to look into them
you were my light and now there is only
darkness
(the stars have given up trying to warn me)
outgoing text message: 9:44 am - hello, I miss you//desolāre - (latin) verb, to forsake

Dear Stars,
Whether you be of now, or of moments long forgotten;
Do not think of me.
Whether you dangle near, or amongst many silken companions;
Do not consider me one of them.
Whether you observe life, or glimpse only the vast expanse of black;
Please. Do not see me.
For I came from you;
And until I again return,
There could be no greater injustice.
Did you tell her about
The edge of the Universe,
Where the stars don't blink,
And you bathe in a sea of your sins,

The colors spoke to you,
In poetry and lies,
Desaturate your mind,
And step in through the blinds.

Is there anybody on this frequency
Listening to this voiceless prayer?
I want to go from here.

Painless offering of winged snakes,
Take flight down a road,
Where blind men see,
And snakes talk in ancient tongues.
Buses blue and yellow,
Take you to the playground
Where the pilgrims disappeared in holy smoke.
Black holes greet you with open arms,
Into the war-torn fields of red,
So beautiful, so ******, so red.
Staring at your defenseless eyes,
Headless hunters, brainless,
Seek you to join them.
Desert child,
Did the sun blind you?
Did the heat seep in through your skin
And burn you inside?
You've been digging at the wrong end,
The light will blind you,
Misguide you,
The exit is to the west.
Hurry.
There's a storm coming.
Get out !

Summer rain
gently falling
on shoulders
unable to carry
the burdens you create
as you explain
why you can't love me.
The summer rain
dries quickly
on the dirt road
you drive away on -
leaving me
in your dust.
