Stretching onto the sun-kissed miles
Seemingly endless like love
The invisible wind sweeps off your skin
Sometimes what's real is something you can't see.

Carefree landscapes left to wander
Under the burning sun overhead at noon
The amazon road bearing mirages of water
Until bathed over by the full moon's twilight.

The gushing wind deafens you completely
Too strong to open eyes, too mild to taste
But the feeling you get when you smile out the window
Is yet another paradise, it cannot be traced.

A journey waiting to reach people
A journey through a people-free lane
A journey which ends when it's goal begins
Journey, the very soul of destination.

Capture the moments
You have beautiful eyes
Frame what they see
In this photographer's paradise.

Reinvent your imagination
Re-establish your dreams
Dear dreamer, dear wanderer
Seize the moment just as it seems.

You don't always have to be alone to be lonely.

betterdays
ever after
             they lived
                         happily
why,
because, they took the time, to beat the wolf back from the front door.

because, they caught the sky, as it fell down on them.

because, they sold the magic beans on to some rube from another town.

because, they decided red was just not their colour.

because, they kissed enough frogs.

because, their knight did not get lost in the forrest.

because, they found they liked miners, ***** boots and all.

because, they did not ever develop a sweet tooth.

because, they knew they looked good!!
it was all those other ducks that had body issues

because, they knew by heart, the words to...
bippety-boppety-boo.

because.......

there was, a time,
                          once, they
      wished.....        upon..
                            ......... a moon

and the wishes.... they came
                   .....true.....

Her eyes skirted off in to the distance
She was all too accustomed to this silence.
Her shadow followed her, maybe the only one
She picked at the ends of her dress and looked at the setting sun
Her eyes were anxious and her lips quivering
Her face pale, as she sat by the river, singing her song,
For no one to hear and no one to care.
Her voice echoed back, and for the first time,
She knew she was alone.

Her eyes were now fixed on the dancing flames, sending smoke upwards.
With every ounce of strength, her heart fought hard to break free.
In her head, it was chaos,
A chaos only her mind could comprehend.
She'd sit down to write and stare at the blank page
Always wanting her life to be made in to a book
But inside, she was a mess, always questioning,
How incomplete everything felt,
How she couldn't fill in the empty spaces.

And like the wisp of smoke spiraling up to the blue sky
*All hope she had, said a last goodbye...

When words fail

What do you say to a child in pain
when nothing can ease the burn,
          the hole,
the enveloping wave
          of darkness?

Words are not a chain
to fastly anchor
          one's soul,
to cling, to save,
          to harness.

Time is the only healing rain
to calm the churn,
          make whole,
to fill the vase,
          drown the sharpness.

And love. Mountains and oceans of love.
This is all I have to give.
My words are not enough.

5/15/14
Maria,
Nothing I can say will ease your pain. You are loved.
